That night, walking into the club felt like walking into a place he was no longer welcome in. It didn't feel like the familiar and normal daily, more aptly nightly, grind. It was the same scene, but with different lighting. Not even Reita seemed to greet him favourably anymore. Reila was too coked out to care, but everyone else seemed to regard him with distaste. Yoongi couldn't fathom why.
Until he got pulled up into Chanyeol's office.
Yoongi looked around, not surprised that Chanyeol's office was decked out in lux furnishings. Not the dusty hellhole that Bogum lived in.
"I'm very sorry to hear about what happened to you at our gala last night," Chanyeol said, and somehow, miraculously, Yoongi didn't believe a single word he said. Shocking, he knew.
"I'm sure you are."
"Unfortunately, I have even more bad news."
"And what would that be?"
"Well, as of about six hours ago, Bogum has gone completely MIA and nobody can locate him."
Good fucking riddance. "That's unfortunate."
"I thought, given your, um," Chanyeol was visibly searching for words. "Incident with him, you might know where he left to."
Really. Incident was what he went with. Yoongi suppressed an eye-roll.
"I don't know where he went. I tend not to keep tabs on people who try to rape me."
Chanyeol looked visibly uncomfortable. "Right. Well."
Yoongi gave him a do-you-really-think-I'm-buying-your-fuckery look. "Can I leave now?"
"Not so fast," Chanyeol said, and Yoongi suppressed a sigh.
"What now?"
"I feel we need to discuss your relationship with V."
Yoongi felt his heart lurch. "What relationship?" He asked.
"The one that's obviously taking place right under my nose."
"I don't have a relationship with V," Yoongi said.
"You're a bad liar, you know that?"
"I'm not lying," Yoongi said, lying badly.
"Look, I'm not stupid," Chanyeol said. "I know what's going on with you and V."
"Do you now?"
"Yes. And it's a bad idea."
"And I should be taking advice from you?"
Chanyeol sighed. "Just... take my word for it. Now go."
Yoongi had no intention of listening to him. But clearly, Chanyeol knew that. After all, he said it himself. He wasn't stupid. Yoongi didn't think he particularly gave a fuck.
The locker room was nearly empty. Jimin and Rocky were sitting in the bathroom as usual, Jimin talking shit about "fucking Hoseok" again, as if that wasn't a dead horse that Jimin just kept on beating because clearly, the spastic twitching of the corpse was about as equal to movement as he was going to get, and Jimin would take it.
Rocky didn't seem to care as long as he wasn't alone.
So Yoongi sighed as he yanked his shirt over his head. Once again, he felt like he had grown past this bullshit. It was all petty horseshit that didn't really matter in the end. He really, really didn't want to work here anymore.
Maybe taking V up on his offer was a good idea.

Yoongi had just walked out of school the next day when the most expensive-looking car pulled into the lot, tires squealing in protest. Yoongi felt his brain melt and run out of his ears like jam pudding. Who the hell owned a Maserati in Yoongi's shitty neighbourhood?
Yoongi was barely surprised when he saw V step out, decked in a no-doubt expensive suit just like normal. He spotted Yoongi easily.
"What are you doing here?" Yoongi hissed through clenched teeth. He noticed the looks from the other students filing out past him. Admiration. Jealousy. Amazement. V stuck out, and drawing attention wasn't one of the things Yoongi liked to do.
"I'm here to get you. Something important came up, and I need your help."
"Need my help with what?"
"You know how Bogum went MIA?"
"Yes?" Yoongi said, not entirely sure where he was going with this.
"I think I know exactly where he is."
"What are you suggesting, V?"
"I'm suggesting," V smirked. "That we take a little trip to see him."
"Is it going to end in murder?"
"If you want it to," V said, the smirk only growing wider. "Anything for you."
Namjoon passed by as V opened the car door for Yoongi. Yoongi didn't miss the strange look Namjoon gave him. Yoongi barely had the time to process that the specific strange look was bitter jealousy before V shut the car door and got in himself.
