Expensive Headphones

Rich sat alone at lunch today. Ever since he returned from being in the hospital cause of him setting Jake's house on fire, everyone thought he was crazy and avoided him. Rich was just playing with his food, not seeming to be interested in eating. He signed, thinking that maybe it would be good to maybe end it all. After all no one would care if he was gone, right?
While he was thinking, he didn't notice Michael moving to sit across from him. The boy just watched Rich till he cleared his throat.
Rich looked up to Michael as he said to Rich, "Hey dude I saw you were alone and thought you needed someone to sit with you."
Rich looked at him and said, "Thanks dude, but isn't Jeremy gonna be lonely cause you're sitting with me?"
"Nah him and Christine are a thing now so he'll be with her. Meanwhile I'm now a third wheel so I was wondering if I could join you so I don't have to deal with being alone."
Rich nodded his head and chatted with Michael. Even though Rich would never admit it he had a crush on Michael. He just loved how adorable he was and that he always just seemed so confident to come out as being gay while Rich had a while to get the confidence to come out that he was bisexual.
Some time had passed and lunch was over. Michael looked at Rich and said with a smile,
[C]"Ay you wanna ride with me to 7/11 after school? I'll pay for whatever you want."
Rich nodded his head and got up. He waved bye to Michael before throwing his lunch away in the trash. He then walked back to the table to get his things and walk to his next class. Many thoughts though ran through the short teen's head while he has heading to class.
What if this a trap just to humiliate me?
What if I try to confess to him and he doesn't feel the same way?
What if he leaves me in the dust like everyone else did?
He tried to clear his head of the thoughts as he sat down in his chair. He didn't pay attention in class much but instead zoned out and thought about after school with his crush and how that might go.

After school, Rich went to where Michael's car was and sure enough Michael was by his car waiting for Rich. Rich walked up to it and got in the passenger side of the car and waited for Michael to get in. Michael got in and started the car. He then drove to 7/11 and parked the car in the parking lot. He got out and walked over to open Rich's door and help him out.
Rich smiled and said, "Thanks Michael."
Michael nodded and said, "Not a problem Rich."
They both walked into 7/11 together. Michael went and got a slushie withe Rich just got a candy bar, not wanting to make Michael spend so much money on him. After they bought their things, Rich went up to Michael.
He said, "Hey dude I'm sorry for being an asshole to both you and Jeremy. You didn't deserve that and I was just doing what my squip told me to."
Michael smiled and replied with, "Its ok dude. I know that the squip now makes you do some fucked up things. Jeremy had one and abandoned me."
Rich smiled, happy to know that Michael forgave him. He finally then decided to try and tell Michael how he felt.
"Michael, I..." He paused for a moment before continuing. "I really like you. Ever since that fire incident I just realized how amazing you were. Sure I bullied you in the past but I wanna try to put that aside. You're just so handsome to me and I don't even know why you're so nice to me..." After he said all of thus he teared up some and began to cry.
Michael noticed this and bent down to Rich's height. He wiped his tears away and said, "Hey don't cry dude. I like you too."
Rich looked at Michael and hugged him tightly. Michael hugged back and picked up Rich. He took him to his car and drove him home, a smile on both of their faces.
