Y/N's P.O.V:
The ceiling creaked. I writhed in my chair with the occasional beads of sweat that would drip off of my forehead and onto my dirt-covered arms. My arms and legs were restrained to the worn out desk I called home years ago.
The room was empty. It smelt of a damp mold with a slight hint of the wood finisher. The single lamp that flickered revealing the cast of someone's shadow out of the corner of my eye. I sat helplessly watching the figure's shadow wander closer and closer to me.
I raised my head only to see one of the people I feared most. Y/B/N (Your Bully's Name). There isn't an escape now.
"Have you missed me, Y/N/N?" Y/B/N teased while slamming my head down onto the splintered desk.
I groaned feeling a stream of blood rush down the side of my face and dripping onto the wood staining it a shade of maroon. I refused to look up at Y/B/N.
"You're useless. Pathetic, a waste of space in life, no one likes you, your parents made the biggest mistake having you." Y/B/N spat.
I closed my eyes trying to wake myself up from this horror, but I remained tied down to this augmented reality. The longer I sat here the longer I was walking towards the line of losing my sanity. I cried and cried for years dealing with one person. Y/B/N has caused so much harm in my life, and I don't need it again.
"I'd figured you wouldn't speak, so I brought someone who might help you." Y/B/N snickered while disappearing into a doorway in the very corner of the room.
I clenched my fist to the point where my knuckles turned a pale color. I wouldn't be able to last much longer in this chair. It felt like the walls were closing in on me. I started to panic.
My thoughts were interrupted by a muffled scream followed by a groan. My brow scrunched. Who else was here? The rusted door swung open to reveal my long-term girlfriend, C/N. Her face was contorted, there was blood all over her, and she looked like she could collapse any second.
I clenched my teeth in rage. Y/B/N could hurt me all they wanted to, but they can't lay a finger on my C/N/N. "LET HER GO!' I barked rocking the desk side to side.
"So now you talk, huh? Because your precious little girlfriend has a boo-boo?" Y/B/N insulted and pulled out a knife from behind them.
My eyes widened. I can't let this happen. C/N means so much to me, I'm nothing without her. "LEAVE HER ALONE!" I shouted feeling tears come pouring down my face. The only thing I could do was watch this happen in front of my own eyes.
Y/B/N only brought the knife closer to C/N's neck. She whimpered.
"You had enough time to fix yourself. Now you know the consequences." Y/B/N cackled and slit C/N's neck in one swift motion.
My head shot up gasping for air. I sat up and dropped my head into my hands. It was only a dream. The next thing I knew I was crying. I usually don't sleep very well so it's rare to actually be in that deep of a state to dream about that. I paid no attention to the quiet stirring of the person beside me.
"Y/N?" A sleepy voice whispered.
My sobs only grew louder.
I felt arms wrap around my body spreading a familiar warmth to the rest of me. I took my face out of my hands to meet C/N's eyes. Her E/C eyes were staring into mine, full of concern. I couldn't bring myself to speak, I only flung myself at her.
"Hey, hey. It's okay. It was only a dream. I'm right here." She cooed as she gently rocked the two of us back and forth on the bed. I sniffled and buried my head deeper into C/N's neck.
We sat like this for about a minute or two before I let go of her. "I'm sorry... I didn't mean to wake you or anything." I croaked cleaning up the tears on my face.
"Are you kidding me? I'm your girlfriend. I'd walk to the end of the world and back just to see your face." She smiled reaching down to grab my hands.
I let out a watery laugh before settling back underneath the bed covers eagerly waiting for C/N to join me. She chuckled softly before lifting the covers and lying down next to me. I curled into her side immediately. She turned her body so that we were facing each other. C/N intertwined our legs and set my head on her chest. She wrapped her arms around my torso and started to trace patterns on my lower back.
"Goodnight Y/N" She yawned.
"Night, C/N/N," I answered and shut off the bedside lamp.
At that moment I realized that home isn't a place or an object, home is a person.
