The New Kid

Kaneki had fallen asleep on the couch. Once he woke up he instantly chucked the blanket off him and studied it, when he thought that it was safe he picked it back up and snuggled it. He looked around the room to see that Hide wasn't awake yet so he made his way up stairs and noticed an open door. Still clinging on to the thin blanket he made his way to the door and peaked inside, he saw Hide sleeping peacefully but he obviously didn't know he was sleeping.

"H-hide?" Kaneki whispered.

No reply

Kaneki started to panic and he slowly walked over to the bed. He stared at hide befor pouncing on the bed, he was on top of hide studying his face. He got worried and started to poke him to see if he would move, he didn't move untill kaneki poked him in the stomach.

Hide's eyes slowly opened and there was a blurr of white in front of him, once his vision cleared up he noticed it was kaneki and he jumped out of his skin, flying up and accidentally pushing Kaneki off the bed.

"WHAT THE HELL!?" Hide shouted. He stared at Kaneki who was staring at the floor and playing with his fingers. Hide sighed and scratched the back of his neck.

"What were you doing kaneki?" Hide asked standing up and making his was over to the pure white neko.

"I-i thought you w-were...dead..." He said quietly.

Hide's eyes widened befor he bursted into laughter, he crouched down in front of kaneki and lifted his chin.

"I was only sleeping silly!" Hide chuckled, he ruffled Kaneki's hair and the neko scrunched his nose and closed his eyes as Hide continued to mess up his hair.

"Right c'mon we've gotta get ready for your first day!" Hide said jumping back up.

Kaneki nodded and stood up as well and followed Hide down stairs. The two ate breakfast and headed up stairs and into Hide's room, Hide handed Kaneki his new school uniform and noticed that he was still wearing the red collar.

"You can take that off you know" said Hide.

Kaneki tilted his head as he didn't know what Hide was on about untill he pointed at Kaneki's collar. Kaneki shook his head to say no.

"Alright then..." Hide said still passing him his uniform "you know how to put these on right?" Hide asked.

Kaneki nodded but he held up a red tie in front of Hide.

"I don't know how to do this..." He said.

"I'll show you how to put it on once your changed alright?" Hide said walking over to the connected bathroom.

Kaneki nodded happily.

"You change in here and don't come in here unless I say so" Hide said closing the door.

Kaneki looked at his uniform and back it his clothes. He unzipped his jacket and shook of his trousers. He picked up the white shirt and unbuttoned it, he slid it on and re buttoned it before slipping his black trousers on.

Hide soon came out and saw Kaneki pulling up his trousers, he felt his face quickly burning up when he saw Kaneki bend over with his tail was swishing back and forth. He quickly covered his face and waited untill his trousers were up. Kaneki turned around to see Hide covering his face, he pulled up his trousers and walked over to Hide. He had his tie in his hand and was waiting for Hide to remove his hands from his face.

"Hide?" Kaneki said quietly, Hide removed his hands from his face only slightly to see if Kaneki was fully dressed. Once he looked at Kaneki he noticed that his buttons weren't done up properly and they were all mix matched with other buttons. He chuckled slightly and told Kaneki to put his tie down. He unbuttoned a few of the odd buttons and he could see through some of the button holes that Kaneki had a few scars but what really caught his eye was a massive scar going from what looked like his hip to his chest. He acted that he never noticed anything and continued to do up his buttons.

Kaneki's tail swished back and forth as Hide did up his buttons. He's never let anyone be this close to him befor but for some reason he just felt comfortable with Hide being close to him. Once Hide was done Kaneki excitedly grabbed his tie and Hide gladly took it. He put Kaneki's tie on and told kaneki that he'd show him how to do it himself when they get back home. Kaneki nodded happily.

The two grabbed their school bags and Hide grabbed his phone and house kyes...speaking of phones.

"Oh right! Kaneki later we're going to get you a phone!" Hide said as they walked out the house.

"What's that?" Kaneki asked.

"Its this thing right here" Hide said, he held up his phone in front of Kaneki. Kaneki nodded.

"Right so here's a few things about our school, there are only another two nekos at school, their names are Hinami and Ayato" Hide said as they walked along the pavement. "Also our school has a lot of people so if you ever feel uncomfortable just tell me ok?" Hide said making sure kaneki heard the a lot part. Kaneki nodded.

Soon enough they reached the school and Kaneki seemed a bit worried due to the amount of people. Hide noticed and told kaneki that it was alright. Kaneki nodded and got closer to Hide so that he felt calmer.

Hide and Kaneki made their way over to the schools office to get Kaneki's class time table.

"You alright kids?" The secretary said, she had purple hair and red rimmed glasses.

"Uh yeah, I was just wandering if I could get an extra time table of my class for my friend, he's new here" Hide said signaling to Kaneki.

The secretary looked at Kaneki and then noticed his cat ears and tail, she smiled and handed Hide a slip of paper.

"Your name must be Kaneki, right?" She said.

He nodded.

"Ok you'll have all the same classes as Hide but you may not be in the same set in Math or English, is that alright?"

He nodded nervously.

"Ok, you guys just missed the warning bell so you have about 3 minutes to get to class, have a good first day Kaneki" she smiled and waved them out.

When they left she picked up a phone and dialled a number.

"Hello?, its Rize...I just found something....he's here....The neko ghoul....ok I'll keep an eye on him....alright..." And she hung up the phone.
