Kaneki's P.O.V

Me and Hide were making our way to class and I was taking a look at my surroundings, I've never been in a school befor and if I'm honest right now I'm...PETRIFIED! Like I guess since I have Hide with me its not all so bad but...so many new scents and faces is realy too much. Well I don't speak much anyways so I guess I won't have to talk a great deal of the time!

"Kaneki?" Hide was waving his hand in my face when I got thrown back into reality.

"Huh?" I said looking at Hide.

"You alright there bud?" He asked.

Oh right...I must of been spacing out... Oops! I nodded and gave him a reassuring smile but honestly...I feel like I could throw up any moment!

"We're here!" Hide said knocking on the class room door. There was a voice telling us to come in and Hide obeyed.

"Your late Mr.Nagachika!" The teacher said. He was tall with blue-ish black hair and weird...eye brows...

"Sorry Mr.Amon, I was getting a time table for the new kid!" Hide said happily.

"What's your name kid?" Mr.Amon said.

Oh crap he's asking me stuff, umm what do I do?! Should I speak or-

"His names Kaneki, Ken Kaneki" Hide said.

Thank lord he spoke for me.

"Oh and it looks like your a neko, we only have another 2 in this whole school" Mr.Amon said.

I really didn't want to speak so I just nodded.

"Want to introduce yourself to the class kaneki?" He asked.

Umm...NO! But I can't say that to him! Uhh what should I say!

"Go on kaneki!" Hide said patting my shoulder, he whispered in my ear "just look at me the whole time and you'll forget everyone else is here!"

I took a deep breath and nodded. I walked to the front of the class and saw Hide sitting right at the back, and I started.

"Um h-hi I'm K-ken K-Kaneki..." I could here some awws and some whispering. I really didnt like this and obviously my ears and tail had to tell the whole class that exactly, they drooped down and I started to shiver a bit.

"You alright Kaneki?" Mr.Amon said.

I didn't dare to speak again so I just shook my head.

"Mr.Amon, eheh I forgot to say...he's stage fright" Hide spoke up.

"Well you should have said some thing earlier Hideyoshi" Mr.Amon said

"I told you to just call me Hide Sir..." Hide said.

"Kaneki, go sit by Hide over there and come see me at the end of reg" Mr.Amon said.

Kaneki nodded and made his way over to Hide when somebody had yanked his tail.

"Ow!" He screeched. He turned to his right to see a boy with ginger-blond hair, glasses and hazel brown eyes.

"Oops sorry Kankitty, I didn't see your tail there" he said and a few other students snickered.

"Nishiki you bastard!" Hide shouted. "Don't touch him!" He walked up to Nishiki and glared at him.

"Hideyoshi! Sit down!" Mr.Amon said raising his voice.

"I'm sorry sir, but this dumb bell dosent know how to keep his hands to himself!" Hide said pointing at Nishiki. A few more students snickered and chuckled when Hide called Nishiki a dumb bell.

"Hideyoshi, sit down. Nishiki, don't touch Kaneki again" Mr.Amon said.

"Sorry sir, but I think I heard Hide call me a...what was it now? A bastard?" Nishiki said "you know Hideyoshi Nagachika, that's a very bad word you used there! You should hold that tounge of yours befor someone else does it for you!" Nishiki said waving a finger a Hide.

Hide gritted his teeth and walked back over to his seat, dragging Kaneki with him whilst cursing under his breath.

Luckily as soon as they sat down, the bell for first lesson had rang and all the other students started to flood out and into the hall way. Kaneki remembered that Mr.Amon had asked to see him at the end of registration, so he approached him.

"Ah, Kaneki" Mr.Amon said "your already friends with Hide I see"

He nodded.

"Well since he's your friend why dosent he show you around the school?" He suggested.

"YES I GET TO SKIP MA- I mean...I'd love to show kaneki around! Hehe..." Hide said scratching the back of his neck.

"This won't take all day you know Hide" Mr.Amon said.

"Yeah, I know" Hide said a bit disappointed.

"Right get on with it, and Kaneki have a good first day" Mr.Amon waved the two off and they waved back.

"Right, we're going to take as long as possible so we can miss as many classes as possible!" Hide said a bit excited.

Kaneki nodded a bit confused about why Hide didn't want to go to class.

"Hide?" Kaneki asked.

"Hmm" Hide turned around.

"Who was that guy that pulled my tail?" Kaneki said.

"Oh that bastard! His names Nishiki, I'm pretty sure that he's just jealous of you Kaneki" Hide said walking in front of him.

"What souls he be jealous of?" Kaneki asked running up to Hide.

"Well first of all, your a neko and a really good looking one to-....umm...I mean you....ugh there's no getting rid of that now!" Hide said blushing and face palming his forehead.

Kaneki hid his face in his hands as he didn't want Hide to see him blushing.

"Umm...you think so?" Kaneki said pulling his hands away from this face a bit.

"Well yeah, you have pure white natural hair and blue-ish grey eyes who wouldn't like having those!" Hide said playing with Kaneki's hair.

Kaneki looked at Hide and he took in everything he said, he couldn't help laughing slightly. His tail flew back and forth uncontrollably and his ears flopped down as he laughed.

"Wow, I've never heard you laugh befor" Hide said removing his fingers from Kaneki's hair. Kaneki calmed down a bit befor speaking again.

"Me neither" Kaneki said scratching his cheek.

"I like it" Hide said getting closer to Kaneki "Right then! Let's get on with the 'school tour thingy'" Hide said skipping away.

Kaneki could feel his face burning up from how close Hide just wawas. He's always felt comfortable talking and being with Hide, he wants to get closer to Hide and learn more about his new friend.

"You coming Kaneki?" Hide shouted.

Kaneki was snapped out if his thoughts by a Hide cocking an eyebrow at him. Kaneki smiled and nodded befor running back up to Hide.
