Dawnflight looked at the seven kits in front of her, they were wriggling and pawing at Leafshine's stomach, mewling and pleading for milk. "They're all so beautiful." Dawnflight purred, rubbing her sister's back with her tail comfortingly.
"Oh, I hope they grow up to be like their father." Leafshine murmured, pain flashed in Cedarheart's eyes. Dawnflight knew the tom had a crush on the she-cat, but since she was a medicine cat he never expected her to fall in love or even have kittens.
"I will love them like they were my own." He murmured quietly, Leafshine's tail curled over them gently. "You should name them."
They were all named Honeykit, in honor of Honeybelly, Mossykit, in honor of Mossybriar, Flamekit, Bramblekit, Thunderkit, Cloudkit, and Littlekit. Dawnflight lapped up the last of the borage that Leafshine had given her while the kits pawed at her belly. "Thank you for doing this, Dawnflight. I owe you so much." Leafshine murmured.
"You may have gone against my will, but you are my sister." She replied, suddenly Whitekit, Mousekit, and Snowkit burst through the ferns.
"May we see them? Please!" Mousekit pleaded, excitement littering his gaze. Dawnlight purred and beckoned them forward. "They're adorable!" He gushed.
"Kits! Go outside, Dawnflight must be tired." Willowmask scolded, the three kits whined as they slipped out. Leafshine was chuckling.
About a moon later, Dawnflight came into camp with a mouse hanging from her jaws. Leopardblaze, who had recieved her name, followed after with Sharpeye and Spiderclaw following.
"Mom brought us prey!" Littlekit mewed, rushing over with her siblings following. "Wow! That's really big!"
"You're just small." Thunderkit snorted.
"No I'm not!" Littlekit snapped.
Dawnflight dropped her prey on the pile, licking her lips. "This is for the Clan, you can only feed off of my milk." She meowed, flicking her tail as Leopardblaze dropped a thrush and a mouse while Spiderclaw dropped a rabbit.
"Watch this!" Mousekit meowed, he dropped into a sloppy crouch and leapt on Snowkit but unbalanced himself and knocked both of them over. Dawnflight shook her head, purring.
"I can do that too!" Flamekit challenged, he crouched down awkwardly and leaped at Honeykit who squealed and ran off. "Come back here!" Flamekit mewed, running after her.
"Kits, watch where you're going, please." Dawnflight meowed, not knowing how to calm them down. "How about a game of mossball with the apprentices?" She suggested, the kits suddenly stopped and looked at Dawnflight expectantly. She shifted her paws nervously.
"I'll play mossball with them!" Dustpaw offered, Thrushpaw and Rosepaw soon joined in. Dawnflight sighed in relief as the three apprentices began dividing up the teams.
"Maybe you should get some rest." Willowmask suggested, touching her tail tip to Dawnflight's shoulder.
"I'm fine." Dawnflight shrugged it off, watching as Rosepaw chose Dustpaw, Mossykit, Littlekit, and Snowkit to be on her team. While Thrushpaw got Bramblekit, Flamekit, Mousekit, Whitekit, and Honeykit. "I'm not tired anyways."
"At least eat something." Willowmask suggested. Dawnflight shrugged, it was still early in the morning, she could go hunting.
