I have been a new girl before but it was different this time because this time i'm going to have questions about why I left Chicago and what happened there and I really don't want to answer them. After what happened i couldn't stand to see so many people throw pity on me or say I was lying. I couldn't do my job anymore. So I decided to move. I've always loved Seattle and this was the perfect opportunity to go. As I pulled up to the sleek building I saw a man outside. I assumed it was the captain because of the pendents on his collar. I got out of my car and walked up to the man. He was tall and had some muscle. He had no hair but had a young face. He had dark skin and dark eyes. He was quite intimidating.
"I'm Captain Sullivan, nice to meet you. The team is upstairs eating breakfast if you would like to join them," Captain said
"Okay I replied softly.
I went to the restroom to change into my new uniform. After I walked slowly up that stairs until I reached the top. I saw everyone sitting at the table. Then someone noticed me.
"Hey it's the new girl," someone shouted
"Come sit," another person yelled
I walked over to the table and stood.
"I'm London ," a girl said
She was very beautiful, she wore her hair in a low ponytail. Her hair was a medium brown while her skin was tan.
"Hi," I said
Everyone introduced themselves. I saw a man sitting in the middle his name was jack and he immediately caught my attention. Very tall with brown hair and blue and brown eyes. He had some facial hair.
"This is the part we're you say your name," Andy joked
"Oh I didn't know I needed to, I know my name is gonna be new girl for a while," I said stiffly
"How long you been a firefighter," Montgomery asked.
"5 years," I said
I think I remembered everyone's name. There was London Barrett , Victoria Hughes, Maya Bishop, Dean Miller, Jack Gibson, Travis Montgomery, and Ben Warren.
" we asked you what your name was not what we are gonna call you," Miller blurted our
"Andy Herrera ," I said calmly
"Pretty name," jack smiled.
"Thanks," I said as my cheeks got red.
"We just sat down to eat breakfast get you a plate," Victoria shouted pointing at the plates
"Okay," I said
I went and grabbed a plate and got a few things. I didn't fit in so I didn't know were to sit so I just stood up and backed away from the table.
"Hey Andy, come sit beside me," jack said waving his hand at me.
I walked over to jack and sat down beside him and ate my food.
"So what's your story," maya asked
"Um I don't have one," I mumbled
Here go the questions.
"Where were you before," Ben asked
"Chicago," I replied
"Why did you move," Miller asked
I stood there frozen because i had no idea what to say. I couldn't tell them the truth... could I?
"I don't like talked about it, I left for a reason and I would rather not bring it up," I said faintly.
"Come on there aren't any secrets here and plus we are all family now," London said
"Well it was a normal day and we got a call. I noticed a new cop on the job so I decided to see if he was doing okay with the job and everything. We talked for a second then I drove the rig back to the station. My shift was over I left by on the way out to my car someone stopped me. They almost killed me. It was the cop. If my friend wouldn't have walked outside I would be dead. Anyways we went to court and I won and he got 20 years. Everyone looked at me differently like I was damaged and I hated that. I was getting death threats because they thought I was lying, so I moved," I said coming to shock myself that I told the truth.
I looked at everyone and they looked back until I felt two arms wrap around me. They were jacks. He was giving me a hug. It felt so magnetic like it was so hard to pull apart but it was probably just me.
"6 pile up crash on I 65 going north, possible car fire in need of assistance ASAP," the intercom started.
"Time to go Andy ," Miller said
"Pairs are Miller and Montgomery, Bishop and Barrett , Hughes and Warren, and finally Herrera and Gibson. Of course I got paired with jack.
"Ready to go princess," jack joked
"Ready than I'll ever be," as I said when we took off in the rig. Completely disregarding the fact he called me Princess
