the ocean will always be here,

quietly existing, loudly billowing,

long after our self-administered extinction

it does not know nor care

stars, sand, ships, rain, 


the empty cities stand as monuments--

overlooking the ocean (that's still here)

monuments to our idiocy and madness

mankind's last haughty look,

upon the rest of creation

complacency, prestige, delusions--

(of immortality) 


billowing loud, existing quietly--
