JUNGKOOK knew taehyung was up to no good. ever since taehyung had tried to follow jungkook he started to block him out. taehyung was known to be an ambivert. sometimes he was really outgoing and love talking to his friends, and another time he is close-minded and trying to block humanity away from him.
jungkook just wanted to comfort taehyung, he didn't want taehyung to feel bad about following him.
he knew taehyung wanted to find him and comfort him so he doesn't have to leave anymore to this place. he knew taehyung wanted to feel love, he knew taehyung wished to be trusted by jungkook enough to go to this place.
and frankly, jungkook wished he could be loved too. he wants to be protected and just wants someone to give him cuddles unconditionally. he knows he could go on a random dating app and meet somebody there, but that isn't the same than dating someone he knows.
if he dates someone he actually knows, maybe there will be more of a connection. maybe he will feel more protected, and maybe he will go to them instead of his secret place.
"taehyung," jungkook said, whispering slightly.
no answer
"taehyung could you please just talk to me?" he asked.
no response from taehyung.
"taehyung could you just answer me or even pay attention to me for one second?"
taehyung turned his head to face the younger. jungkook noticed taehyung's tear-stained cheeks and glossy eyes. he noticed how red his eyes were, it was probably from crying.
"do you need anything?" taehyung asked in a low voice.
"yes, actually. why haven't you been talking to me for these past few days?" he said slightly raising his voice.
taehyung sighed at the question. he thought about why he hadn't been talking to jungkook in the past few days. he kept on thinking and thinking until one thing came to his head. taehyung was mad at himself.
he was mad that he invaded jungkook's space, trying to find something not even relevant to his self. he was mad at himself for not minding his own business. he was mad that he ruined his chance with the person he liked.
"i've just been thinking about family, sorry." taehyung said apologetically, but the younger knew he had been lying.
"you know you can tell me anything, right?" jungkook said with a smile that taehyung knew was fake.
taehyung just nodded his head, turning back around to look at the window next to his bed.
"tae, you know i saw you following me a couple days ago, right?"
taehyungs eyes widened at the unexpected comment. he didn't think jungkook could see him, but then again, he was hiding in a bush.
"tae, you know that you could've just asked to come with me. you don't have to keep trying to find the place when you could just ask," jungkook said, resting his head against his palm.
"yeah, but you said you would only take people you trust there," taehyung started, "you never told me you trusted me enough to go with you there. in fact, you never even said anything about you trusting me."
jungkook stayed silent.
"you know how much that hurt jungkook? knowing that i can't even hold a friendship with someone for so many years and still not be trusted? i've tried everything to earn your trust but i still haven't succeeded! don't you understand that I'm not always as happy as i look? that deep down when you leave it's hurting me too?"
jungkook sat there in shock. he never knew taehyung had such emotion in his mind. he was about to start talking when taehyung just stood up and left the room.
jungkook knew he didn't leave the house, he would never. jeongguk knew he had just gone into the bathroom. he was about to go and get him when he just decided to wait a while, he wanted to wait for taehyung to calm down a little bit.
jungkook wished he hadn't ever said anything. that's when he broke.
he started crying and crying until his clothes were drenched in tears. he stood up and went to the bathroom to apologize to taehyung.
but instead of saying any words, jungkook did something unexpected. he opened the bathroom door, he went over to taehyung who was sat on the ground silently sobbing.
jungkook picked up taehyungs head and kissed him.
