"Hah!"

Hinata struck down at the auburn haired male who stood above her light, he barely dodged and her gentle fist made contact with the ground, creating a small crater beneath her.

She was here to protect Naruto, no matter what, she wouldn't let Pein take him.

"That's why... I'm not afraid to die here, if it means I can protect you Naruto-kun...!" She smiled, know this may well be the end, "Because..." She took a deep breath, no going back, "I love you..."

She never listened for a response, knowing full well he wouldn't accept her. To spare her the embarrassment on the battlefield, Hinata ran towards Pein, her palm outstretched and poised for an attack.

She faintly heard Naruto yelling at her to leave, that she'd be hurt, when she was thrown away by an unknown force delivered by Pein himself. Hinata quickly got up and broke the chakra rods on Naruto's body before being blown away once more.

'No good, I need to attack.'

She held her fists by her sides, "Juho Shoshiken!" Two sapphire blue lion heads appeared on her fists, she then charged and began doing whatever she could to hit the Akatsuki leader.

When she made contact and felt him stumble, Hinata quickly ran to Naruto and broke the second to last rod, she tried to destroy the last one when she was thrown once more, this time hitting her head in the process.

Hinata felt unconsciousness being to wash over her, but she shook it off.

'No! I need to help Naruto-kun!'

She shakily stood and made her way to the blonde, determined to help her motivation to move forward.

"Why?" She tried to ignore Pein's gravely voice, "Why try when you know it's fruitless? Why die when you are too weak?"

Hinata fell in front of Naruto and held the rod trapping his hands tightly, "Because..." she gazed into Naruto's frightened eyes, "I never go back on my word. That's my nindo..."

Pein sneered and raised his hand, Hinata sensed his shift in chakra and smiled sadly at Naruto, who's eyes were growing wider and wider by the second.

"Shinra Tensei."

It was like slow motion as Hinata felt herself being lifted from the earth and thrown more than a hundred feet into the air, she heard Naruto call her voice out in a desperate plea for something.

Hinata closed her eyes when she met the sweltering, unforgiving ground before Pein's feet. She heard the sound a katana made when it had been unsheathed and she knew then she would die.

As soon as she felt the white hot pain of his chakra rod piercing her heart, Hinata's life flashed before her eyes, the good, the bad, the unforgettable, the love, the loss, everything.

She then saw herself on a battlefield, slapping Naruto as he held Neji's corpse.

She saw Naruto confess his feelings for her.

She saw herself leave Naruto to save her sister from a man named Toneri.

She saw her wedding day, Naruto next to her.

She saw her father smile at her for the first time.

She saw two beautiful children of her own, a blonde and a bluenette, like herself. Himawari and Boruto.

And finally, she saw Naruto become Hokage, achieving his lifelong goal.

Hinata smiled as she heard the muffled voices of medics become farther and farther away.

I had a good life

When Hinata opened her eyes, she saw her mother standing there in an all white gown, "Hey Kaa-san..."

Hana whipped around and was mortified to see Hinata before her, "Hinata?! Why're you here?!" She hugged her daughter despite her anger and sorrow, "It's much too early!"

"She's lost too much blood!"

"Her heart beat is slowing! She has no pulse!"

"Hinata-sama!"

"Hinata!"
