SPENCER CAVANAUGH'S POV:
As we glided past the all to familiar town hall of Rosewood, I spun my ring around my finger. I can still remember the day Toby proposed like it was yesterday. I looked over at him as he turned down my old road. My Mother was moving out of our old family home, and it just so happen to be on sale, when Toby and I were looking at houses. As we pulled into the driveway, I spun around to look at Ava. She was staring at the two story house in utter amazement and to be honest I was to. It's been so long since I was last here, I'd forgotten almost completely what it looks like. There were so many memories - good and bad - here. I was so focused on the house, that I hadn't even noticed Toby and Ava leave the car, until they reached the front porch.
"Spence? Are you planning on getting out of the car?" Toby yelled as he unlocked the front door. I forced my feet to part with the floor, and exited the car. I started walking up the driveway, and I felt like I was back in High School. Memories of walking to the porch with the girls, Toby, even my family swarmed my head. Toby and Ava had already entered the house, and I could hear Ava's footsteps thumping up the stairs. For a 16 year-old girl, she still acted like a 6 year-old sometimes. Toby had plonked himself on the lounge chair in front of the fireplace. When my Mother heard that we had brought the house, she left all of the furniture in our possession. It to be honest was quite a relief for Toby and I when we heard the news. It meant we wouldn't have to worry about what we did or didn't need to bring or buy. I walked into the kitchen, letting my hand touch every surface it could.
"Are you planning on infecting every surface?" Toby laughed, as I touched the fridge door.
"I'm sorry, but I feel like I need to make sure the house, remembers me." I mumbled. Even as the words left my mouth I knew it was stupid, but it was the truth.
"That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard Spence, but you know what?"
"What?"
"It sounds exactly like you." I look over at Toby and I can see that he has the largest possible smirk ever, on his face. I walk over to him and fall into his arms. I'm not sure how long passed, or even what time of the day it was, when Ava came thumping down the stairs.
"OMG! This place is so big and so amazing! I love love love it! Which room is mine?" I laughed and felt Toby's chest rise and fall as he laughed to. I couldn't remember the last time I was happy in this house. I clambered of the couch and headed up the stairs with Ava trailing behind. I don't know if it was natural instincts or what it was, but I walked into my old room.
"Is this mine?" Ava asked plonking herself down on the bed.
"No Ava, this is my old room. Your Father and I will sleep in here." I mumbled as I walked out the door. I decided that Ava could sleep in Melissa's old room. Ava catapulted herself onto the bed, and I left her to it. It was such a strange feeling be back here, not just in Rosewood, but back in this house. For some part it felt good, but others it felt bad. Then again it is Rosewood...
