As I sipped my latte I watched the passerbys go on with their daily lives. A few of the faces were familiar which was to be expected since I always sat here at this time. Having a morning coffee at my local cafe had become a part of my daily routine.

As always I sat in the window enjoying the morning sun warming up my soul. The small wooden table held my phone, my coffee, and my sketchbook. Some people found it childish that I enjoyed drawing and colouring; I often got strange looks for it.

"Excuse me?" Someone said while tapping me on my shoulder. I turned to face the person responsible for interrupting my peace.

The man who stood before me made my heart flutter. His hair laid nicely along his shoulders, he wore a tinted blue shirt with a black jacket along with black skinny jeans. A gentle tap on my nose brought me out of my trance.

"I think you dropped this, sweetheart." He stated while holding up the pencil that had tapped my nose.

"Thank you." I said timidly as I took the pencil from him. Our hands touched for a split-second before he smiled and walked away. As I put my pencil back on the table I gazed at my fingers; the strange tingle of his touch lingered. I shook my head to clear my thoughts as I packed up my things and left to carry on with my day.

The sound of birds chirping, puppies playing, and the squeaks of all the smaller animals filled my ears as I doodled on the till paper. The days were often quite here but I was never bored. One of my great loves were animals, I'm lucky to be working in somewhere I love. A little jingle drew my attention to the door.

"Welcome to Paradise, How may I-" I started my greeting but was cut short when I saw who had entered.

He sauntered over to the counter and snatched my doodle up. As he looked it over a small smile crept over his lips.

"Your drawings are so childlike, sweetheart." He complimented, well it seemed like it was supposed to be a compliment. All I could do was nod in response. I watched as he leant over the counter, placing my doodle back down as he did so. He placed a finger under my chin, lifting my face to meet his, my eyes met his as he leant further towards me.

"I'll see you again soon, sweetheart." As he spoke he placed a gentle kiss on my lips. I was left in awe and wonder as I watched him walk out the door.

The split second of wonder vanished leaving me distraught and slightly scared. Questions raced through my mind. Who was he? Is he dangerous? When will I see him again? A part of me hoped to never see him again but a small sliver of me wanted to see him again. To have his soft lips touch mine again. I spent the rest of my working hours on edge, jumping every time I heard the gentle ding from above the door.

The next few days went by in their usual blur. Thoughts of the mystery man no longer filled my mind and everything felt normal again. I was once again sat drawing in my local cafe as I observed everyone scurrying around outside. The gentle classical music played softly above me; allowing me to drift further into my own little world.

I continued to scribble on the paper, often switching colours and pausing to drink my latte, deep in my world I didn't notice when someone sat opposite me. The next time I looked up to take a sip of my drink I was startled by the man in front of me. His lips turned from a line to a slight smile as I nearly spilt my coffee.
