Give Her Time

(Renee P.O.V)

"Where is Paige?!"

Corey had let out a sigh as he stood up from the couch. "Look, she's staying over at Naomi and Jimmy's apartment for awhile." "What?! Why?" I asked confused. "You two haven't spoken to each other in two days, Ren. That's a short amount of time, but to 'Raya, it's a whole lot. She didn't want to make it any more awkward to stay here with you. So, she left." Corey explained to me and I let out a frustrated sigh. I couldn't understand why she would blow this whole thing way outta proportion like this. Especially now that I've found out what's actually on the contract.

"She's taken this argument way too seriously, if you ask me." Corey said. "Agreed. Ugh. That's it! I'm ending this whole argument right now!" I said as I reached into my back pocket and took out my cell phone. Just as I was about to call Paige, Corey snatched the phone from out of my hands. "Hey! Give me back my phone!" "No! Don't call her!" He shouted back at me. "GIVE ME MY FUCKING PHONE!" I yelled again. "I'm not letting you call her!" "Fine! I'll just go over to Naomi and Jimmy's apartment and talk to her there!" I said before making a dash towards the door, but of course, Corey beat me to it. He stood in front of the door, blocking it so I couldn't get out. "Why are you doing this? Did she tell you not to tell me where she is or something?!" I asked him and he nodded his head. I figured.

"Yeah, she did. That's why she called me to come over here so early." Corey explained. "She knew you had to go to that Rollins guy's building to pick up your photos this morning and that you would most likely want her to come with you. So to avoid going, she called me and told me to take her to the study hall at school. She stayed there and told me to come back and get her as soon as you left. I did, and when she and I got back here, we packed up only a few of her things and went over to Naomi and Jimmy's apartment. She's staying with them for I don't know how long, but that's where she is." "I need to get over there! I need to talk to her, Graves! MOVE!" I yelled at him again but he stood his ground. "No way! If she finds out that I told you where she went, she's gonna freakin' kill me!" "No, she won't! Well... maybe she will at first but not after I show her what's in this!" I said as I held up the file in my hand.

"What's that?" Corey asked me as he looked at the file in my hand. "On the same night of the argument before I went in my room, remember when I turned back to you guys and said that if Mr. Rollins offered the contract to me, I would sign?" I asked him and he nodded his head again. "Well guess what's inside this file... the contract!" "Did you sign it? You know Saraya is gonna be pissed at you when she..." "I didn't sign it." I cut him off. "Actually, I can't sign it until Paige signs it first. He seriously wants her." I said to Corey. "What makes you think she'll sign it anyway? You know how she feels about it and that she hates that Rollins guy." "True but remember, she never really read the contract. I did. I read all of it. Everything in this file, I've read it and it's legit, Graves. See for yourself." I handed over the file to Corey.

He gave me a look before taking the file from my hand. I sure wished Paige had read the contract, but her pride got in the way of that. If it hadn't, I knew that she would have been more than happy to sign it. It's everything she's ever wanted and so much more. We both would benefit from it. By the look on Corey's face, I knew that he instantly thought the same as me. "No way. Is this real?" He asked me as he looked over the contract's amazing and life changing offer. "Definitely. All she has to do is sign, let Mr. Rollins invest in it, and we get everything." I explained to him with the hugest smile on my face. "That's incredible. She's gonna love this!" He said and I nodded. "I know! So, give me my phone or let me pass so I can show her this and tell her that I was right!" I exclaimed as I grabbed ahold of the file again.

"Look, that's amazing, Ren, but remember that this is the sole reason why 'Raya left in the first place." Corey said and I gave him a look of confusion. "What are you saying?" "I'm saying that she doesn't want anything to do with that or Mr. Rollins right now. It's still fresh, you know?" "No, I don't know, Graves. I'd love to stick around and let you explain, but I need to talk to Paige." "No. Just listen. You're not thinking about how 'Raya feels. You wanna show her that you were right and get her to sign the contract, which I'm sure she'll gladly sign once she reads it herself. But she's obviously taking this whole situation to heart. It bothered her so much that she left, Renee. So, you shoving a contract in her face right now wouldn't be the best idea because it will only make matters worse. You just need to give her some time to herself, apologize to each other, then show her the contract." I hated to admit that Corey was right, but that's exactly what he was. His point was crystal clear and I was gonna follow through with it.

"Okay. You're right. I'll give her time. I don't wanna damage our friendship any further because of this contract." I said. "Good." "How much time should I give her?" "Did that Rollins guy give you two a deadline to sign the contract or something?" He asked and I shook my head. "Nope, but I figured that if we take too long to sign, he may change his mind." "Well... how about you both sign it this Friday night?" "We're all going to the club that night, remember?" "Yeah, and that's where you'll see Saraya again. We have no idea when she's coming back here and Friday is only a couple more days away. That would be the perfect time to show her the contract." He explained. "Ohh, good idea! Okay, when I see her Friday night, I'll show her. Hopefully, Mr. Rollins will be there as well." "He's coming?" "He's unsure of it, but Paige is the one who invited him on Monday, so he might just show up." "Well, we shall see."
