~Ez's POV~
I watched RK as she sat back down on the bed, momentarily stuffing her hands into the front pocket on her hoodie. Her beautiful eyes looked tired and scared. She then had her hands neatly folded on her lap as she glanced at me.
"Ready," I ask her, finding a thing for liquid stitches. I also pick up an alcohol prep pad to clean up what little dried blood that was on her cheek.
RK sat with her injured cheek facing me, her eyes closed. She didn't flinch or whine like I thought she would, but that made me think about her. She acted like she was alright, but I had a feeling deep down she was just guarded.
What happened to her to make her like this? Does she have any friends who miss her, I think to myself as I finish with the liquid stitches.
I slowly stood up and instinctively kissed the top of her head. I watched her tense as I did, but she doesn't fight me. I then look to my brother, watching Angel pace.
"We can't just leave her," I suddenly say, "She's new in two and we're the only two people she technically knows.".
I watch Angel glance to RK as she curled up. She looked like she was regretting something, but she didn't say a word to Angel or myself.
"I'll head to the clubhouse and see what files from the Sons we have. We'll find out who she is," Angel said, heading to the door.
I looked to RK's sleeping form and sigh softly. I watch Angel leave, then I shut the door and lock it. I put my head in my hands as I sit down on the bed with RK's bag. Her soft breathing and mine were the only two sounds that could be heard.
"I miss you, Jaxy. I miss you, Babe," RK muttered in her sleep, rolling over to her other side.
I watch her, then I nervously rub her side, not knowing if she'd welcome it or if she'd freak out and punch me. I felt her tense under my hand, but she then relaxed and murmured, 'Thanks,' under her breath.
"You're welcome, RK," I tell her, "I'm going to help you in anyway that I can. I didn't know Jax well, but I can tell you he was a great person.".
I watch RK sit up, her eyes a little puffy and red. Her nose was a soft link from rubbing it and her lower lip quivered slightly. She then hugged me, her shoulders shaking.
"You're okay," I tell her, "I'll protect you.".
RK seemed to quiet down, but she didn't say anything else for an hour. Her black hair was tangled and messy, but she didn't say anything. Her eyes weren't as puffy now, but they were slightly red.
"I really miss him," she finally spoke, "Jax and I had a good thing going for four years.".
I sit next to her, listening to what she had to say. She was silent for a moment before she spoke again.
"He cared for me as much as I cared for him. His boys loved me. Jax would always find me curled up with Abel when he was sick. He'd always find be tending to Thomas's scraped up knee. Jax and I had our fights, but they were all moot and not necessary. If I was hurting or sick, he'd put off a meeting or run to watch over me. I don't know what'll happen to his children and I'm scared to death they'll be separated from each other," RK said, her voice cracking at the end.
I hug her and rub her arms, just trying to be friendly. I surprised myself when I spoke to her.
"I'll talk to Bishop. I'll see what he can do because I know Gemma can't raise those two little boys alone. Maybe she'd give you custody and you could raise them here. I'll also see if I can get Bishop to okay Angel and myself to help you get settled into your new place," I say.
RK softly smiles, then she nudged my arm, "We're gonna be best friends, Ezekiel.".
Can I help RK? What will become of me?
