Hello! Thanks for tapping/clicking onto my story! I'm going to have a brief explanation of the story, you may skip it but it will probably help you understand the story a bit. The story revolves around a group of teenage demigods. They are characters I have made up, giving some of the characters godly parents that really were not mentioned through the story. Upon spreading popularity of our beloved hero, Percy Jackson, they start to believe they're going to live an average life. That is until, a quest has been given to them. I'm going to have fun with this story by: Making them come up with dumb ideas that actually turn out to work, since they're teenagers they have a lot of knowledge on meme culture, and etc. This takes place around The Lost Hero, making the group age average 16. Also before you read on, I'm on House of Hades and it's been a while since I've read the other PJO books so have mercy on me! Have fun reading my story, and thanks for stopping by!
"Bee, hold your fire. Release on my signal!" Mireille commanded.
"Mireille, I can't hold it for much longer. You better have a good plan!" Bee grunted as she shifted several levers.
"This has a 43.5% chance of working. That seems pretty good enough," Mireille shrugged.
"Wait did you say 43.5? What do you MEAN 43.5-" Bee yelled.
"FIRE!" Mireille shouted.
So, you may be wondering, man how did they get there? Well it all started on an average (you wish) day at Camp Half-blood. Mireille had been out and about. Just doing the usual. It's not as if she had a choice. She was practically one of the only ones in her cabin. I suppose that's what you get when your mum decides to conceive a child with Aether the God of light and air. As if being a child of Aether was hard enough, Mireille had trouble with making friends at camp. She wasn't exactly the outgoing type. There was one exception though. Last summer Mireille had met a boy from the Demeter cabin. His name with Nikolai. He was basically Mireille's only friend at camp and vice versa.
Mireille was sitting by her cabin today. She was taking in all the tranquility.
"Hey Mireille!"
Well, there goes the tranquility.
"Hey Nikolai," Mireille waved. She noticed how a scowl was formed on his face. "Is everything good? You seem upset," She asked.
"No not really. Okay so get this, everyone has some sort of cool demigod power right? I have plant type of powers but it's not AS cool. Like ooooh a tomato be scared!" Nikolai dramatically waved his hands in the air.
"Plants are cool too you know," Mireille laughed.
"I mean sure, but everyone else is still cooler. Even you," Nikolai pouted.
Mireille's eyes widened, "Me? Cool? Are you sure about that?" She pointed at herself.
"Hell yea! Being Aether's daughter sounds cool. I'm sure it has it's cons though. Like the whole cabin situation," Nikolai smiled.
Mireille laughed sheepishly, "Perhaps. At least I have you to keep me company."
"The best company you'll ever have," Nikolai made finger guns.
"Even if you are a bit annoying," Mireille mumbled under her breath.
Nikolai gave her a look, "Ahem, excuse me?"
"Oh, nothing," Mireille glanced off into another direction.
The two of them had sat in silence for a while. Just enjoying each others presences and deep in their own thoughts. That's until Nikolai broke the ice.
"So you heard of how Percy Jackson went missing?" He asked.
Mireille wasn't surprised. Percy had become pretty infamous for all the quests he had completed. Also for all the dangerous situations he's been in. Wasn't shocking to find out he went missing. "Shocking," Mireille said sarcastically, "I know he's amazing and all that other crap, but I wish we could get some tiny part of the spotlight too. I don't wanna live an average life, I want to go out on adventures too," She sighed. Living a quaint life is fine for a portion of the time but it starts to get boring. Mireille wanted some excitement in her life, even if it did involve a little danger.
"Yea, maybe chance can pick someone else this time," Nikolai huffed.
A camper approached Mireille and Nikolai. This was probably the first time another camper has actually came up to them.
"Chiron needs everyone at the pavilion. He says he has some sort of announcement," The camper explained. The camper then walked off to probably tell other campers about the news.
"What could this possibly be about?" Nikolai groaned.
"Probably something about Percy if I had to say," Mireille sighed. She already heard the news she didn't need a repeat. "Well lying around on the grass isn't gonna do anything, we should get a move on."
-
The crowd was restless. Murmurs spread from person to person. Chiron had stepped into the center and all the hushed whispers became silent.
"As all of you might of heard of the disappearance of Percy Jackson, this gathering has nothing to do with him. We already have a group out looking for him. Another threat has started to lurk though," Chiron said. "Recently there's been a lot of dark activity down by New York City. The Oracle has already given a prophecy and selected who should embark on this quest."
This was a change of news for Mireille. Here she sat, thinking this was going to be about Percy, but it wasn't. She leaned in a little closer. She knew there was no way in Hades that she could possibly be chosen for a quest, but it couldn't hurt to hope right?
"For our first candidate on this quest, we have Mireille Shiramizu from the Aether cabin," Chiron read from a small piece of paper.
All eyes shifted onto Mireille. It took her a moment to process what Chiron had just said. Her eyes finally widened in realization. She perked her head up and looked around. She pointed at herself, "Me?"
"Yes, yes, of course you. You're Mireille, correct?" Chiron raised a brow.
Mireille nodded, "Yes, this is all just so sudden."
"You'll be alright." Chiron chuckled, "We have Nikolai Elliott from the Demeter cabin, Zack Rudemo from the Hecate cabin, Bee Grassa from the Hephaestus cabin, Santino Cassesso from the Athena cabin, Marina Todaro from the Iris cabin, Saskia Zinn from the Nemesis cabin, and lastly Valentina Regoli from the Aphrodite cabin. If I called your name please stay, if not you are dismissed. Thank you," Chiron finished.
Mireille sat still, in shock. She had already accepted that she was going to live an average life, but a quest? For her?
"Miri! We're in a quest! Together even!" Nikolai shook her arm excitedly.
Mireille snapped out of her trance. "Holy crap, you're right!" She turned to him and smiled.
"Ahem," Chiron intervened, "Mireille, considering the Oracle picked you to lead the team I believe you should have this." Chiron handed her a small piece of paper, much like the one he read from before. "It's the prophecy, make sure to read it to your fellow quest members as well," He nodded. With that, Chiron walked off.
Mireille held the paper close to her chest. She was going to complete this quest. No matter what the cost. Her deep thoughts vanished due to a tap on her shoulder.
"Hey the names Bee. Daughter of Hephaestus. You must be Mireille right? Nice to meet ya!"
Hey just a quick note, if I'm incorrect on any of my Percy Jackson references apologies in advance since its been a while since I've read Last Olympian!
