Aah! I wasn't able to publish the special I wrote during Christmas so here it is. Merry late Christmas y'all!
A lonely truck stood still on a quiet road. The cold winter wind howled like ferocious wolves in the night. Small flurries of crystal snowflakes fell from the dark starry sky. They added to the blankets of snow surrounding the area, glistening like still water on a pond. The night was not only dark, but calm in a sense. The moon was a perfect silver disk, gently placed in the sea of stars.
T'was Christmas night and all eight demigods sat huddled in the back of the truck. The heat wasn't working so their last resort was to stay close.
"It's Christmas and we're spending it freezing our asses off in the back of some truck," Bee sighed.
"Uh, Bee? We're Greek demigods we don't necessarily celebrate Christmas," Marina said.
"Yea, but, we liked to celebrate Christmas because it was one of the most joyous time of the year. The tree? Presents? Cookies? It gave me a warm feeling inside," Bee reminisced.
"I understand you exactly. Back at the camp, Nikolai and I would desperately try to decorate a small tree best as we can," Mireille said.
Nikolai sat upright, "Oh yea! Then the next day the tree vanished. I wonder where it went."
Then there was silence. It seemed as if everyone was daydreaming about the holidays. Nostalgia had crept up everyone's backs. Now the good times were over, replaced by a lingering dull feeling. Ever since anyone had gotten to Camp Half-Blood, nothing was ever the same. No one got any breaks and nothing definitely seemed normal. The silence was soon interrupted when Valentina suddenly stood up.
"Well," She started, "Are we just going to sit around and do nothing about it?"
"What in the Gods name are you rambling on about?" Saskia mumbled.
"I'm trying to say that we shouldn't just be sitting in this stupid truck while we wait for this stupid storm to pass. We should find somewhere to spend Christmas, you know?" Valentina proposed.
"You realize how pointless that is right?" Santino added, "Besides where would we possibly go?"
"I saw a gas station before. Maybe I can charmspeak for some free snacks and we enjoy the warmth in there," Valentina said.
Santino scoffed, "Your grand Christmas idea is to spend it in a gas station?"
"It's better than this truck!" Valentina pointed out.
Santino glanced over at the rest of the demigods and crossed his arms.
"Well I mean she does have a point," Saskia shrugged.
"You guys are kidding right! You know it's way safer inside this truck right?" Santino said.
"Lighten up, we can always leave you in the truck and go on our own," Zack grinned.
Santino glared at him, "Oh great the emo's telling me to lighten up."
"Suit yourself," Zack shrugged and got off the truck. The rest of the demigods followed his lead.
"Fools!" Santino shook his head, "You're all a bunch of fools!"
Santino stood in the now empty storage area. As much as he didn't want to admit it, he was starting to regret not going. Maybe he did take it a little too far, but he was too stubborn to admit that to anyone. Before he could guilt trip himself anymore a hand landed on his shoulder, making him almost leap out of his skin.
"Sorry! I didn't mean to scare you!" A soft voice spoke behind him.
He knew that voice. "Marina? What the hell are you doing here? Shouldn't you be off with the others?" He asked.
