Chapter 3: a step in the glowing direction

It had been a while, the child had spent the night in Papyrus's jail cell, which was surprisingly comfortable, and was not locked, they had been let in by sans, after he had taken care of his brother, that morning though, the tall figure of the familiar skeleton strided proudly to the cell door and called out to the half-asleep child"frisk! That was your name wasn't it? After I allowed you to defeat me yesterday, I have decided to inform you that, not only are you just the 5th person to ever see my ultimate form, but that, as unbelievable as it may seem, there are stronger royal guardsmen than myself ahead. And as a matter of respect for you, and to allow them the fun of capturing you, I, the great lord papyrus, am not going to detain you in this cell." It was then that frisk thanked him for allowing them to stay, and continued on their way, through the small town of snowdin, and on to a large clearing with a waterfall and a lake. Where they were approached by a small orange armless monster, "hello! I'm monster kid, I saw you fight that transforming skeleton, that was so cool! Can I be your best friend?" Frisk looked at the boy, and nodded. "Can I be your personal trainer?" Frisk nodded again, they knew they needed to become even stronger if they were to get passed the more powerful guards. "I have no idea what a personal trainer does, so I'm just going to yell inspirational quotes while you work out, then you can do the same for me, ok?" Frisk agreed to this, and they began, for some time, there was a pattern, in the day, frisk would train and monster kid would spout whatever'inspiration' came to his mind. "No pain, no gain! float like a butterfly, sting like a bee! belive in the heart of the cards! no shirt no shoes no service!" And in the evenings monster kid placed a small weight in his mouth and did sit-ups and curls. For about a month they kept up this pattern, until they believed themselves ready. The two then ambled on towards the waterfall, but were confronted by a force of royal guards, monster kid offered to fight them first, the first two, dogamy and dogressa, weren't sure what they were looking at, and swung for where they assumed his arms were, obviously missing. Monster kid retaliated by kicking dogamy, launching himself head first into dogressa and toppling them both, he dispatched lesser dog with a quick headbutt, and for greater dog, he had saved something special, "slicing circle!" With that a large energy disk formed on his toungue, he bit down on it, and swung his head at the large armoured dog. This sent the disk flying in his direction, cutting cleanly through the armour, and from the top half, a small dog ran away. Then in the distance a figure appeared standing atop the gate. There came a shout from the figure" HUMAN, YOU WILL NOT GO ANY FURTHER!" Monster kid recognised the booming voice, and recoiled in fear.
