"Shin-chan," a 17 year old girl with shoulder length brown hair, cerulean blue eyes, and a fair complexion, cried, tears sliding down her face silently," where are you?!" What she was referring to was the newspaper that was thrown against the wall, tear stains throughout the paper. From what was visible of the headline it said,"Kudou Shinichi Declared Missing." You see, this girl's name was Homuzo Michiko, the cousin of Kudou Shinichi with whom she was very close with. Michiko's mother, Homuzo Seiko, watched on with sad eyes at her suffering daughter. At last Seiko couldn't take it anymore. She just didn't wanted her daughter to suffer any longer. Swiftly walking to her daughter's position on the bed, Seiko wrapped her arm around her sobbing daughter. Michiko froze and, tears still flowing down her face, looked up at her mother.

"Mama?"

"Michiko," Seiko whispered with teary eyes to her suffering daughter," this isn't healthy." Michiko looked down, ashamed, trying desperately to stop the flow of tears.

"I know mama, but" She paused taking deep breaths to calm her down," but... he was best friend!" She started to sob again as she cried on her sad mother's shoulders. Seiko stroked her sobbing daughter's hair, as she thought of ways to get her mind off of things.

"How about this. How about we go away for awhile to... to get your mind off things," Seiko suggested. Michiko looked up at her, eyes finally dry albeit red and puffy.

"But where would we go?"

"We could go to Doyle-ojisan's in England," Michiko shrugged.

"That sounds like a good idea, but how long would we be there?"

"Until this whole thing blows over and who knows maybe Shinichi-kun could be back." At the name "Shinichi-kun" Michiko started to bawl even more loudly.

'Maybe I shouldn't have said Shinichi-kun's name,' Seiko thought with a sigh.

One year later

"Are you sure about this, Michiko?" Seiko asked her daughter worriedly.

"Yes mama," Michiko answered as she hiked her pack on her right shoulder," it's been over a year since Shin-chan disappeared. I need to find him!" Her eyes began to get watery as she hugged her mother.

"I just have to do it, I need to know the truth about his disappearance!"

"I know you have a feeling you need to but..." Seiko trailed off as her daughter looked up at her with a few tears going down her face.

"Flight 324C is now boarding," a flight attendant's voice called over the PA. Michiko looked back up to her mother.

"It looks like I have to go mother." Michiko gave her mother one last hug as she went to the gate.

"Come back safely," Seiko prayed under her breath as she watched her daughter board the plane.
