The rain pat on the ground like nature's music.
Pit pat pit pat.
The birds had taken cover and all the ninja stayed inside. Except for you.
You pushed your hair out of your face and shook your head, spreading the drops around. It was difficult to see on this weather. It was like the heavens was mourning your parents. They recently died on a mission and you were left to live with relatives you weren't even sure you knew.
You had run off about an hour ago. You had planned on going back.
You only wanted to burn off some steam but you ended up getting lost in the heart of Konoha.
The rain had you drenched and cold. The chills had reached inside your skin and you slowly froze. You stifled a sneeze and looked around. Your eyelids were wet and blurring your vision. Then you heard it. Barely audible but you heard a cry.
A small kid crying in the rain. You strained to see and noticed a gazebo. Itching for cover, you raced under and shook off as much water as possible. A blast of wind hit you and you felt like ice. Tears ran down your own cheeks. A small figure sat on the bench, hunched over. His shoulders shook as he let out hard sobs.
"H-Hey." You shivered
The boy sniffed and turned away. You rubbed your arms trying to warm up.
"Hey y-you. K-kid." You stuttered
The boy turned slightly. "What?"
Your teeth chattered and you rubbed your arms quicker.
"Who a-are you?"
"Rock Lee."
"I'm (y-y/n)... What are y-you doing h-here?"
"Nothing..."
I sat down besides Lee
"A-Aren't you cold?"
The young boy didn't respond. You chattered and hugged yourself tightly. Lee watched you for a few seconds then passed you a blanket. You nodded a shaky thanks and wrapped yourself. Rock Lee wiped away some tears then sniffed
"What are you doing out in the cold?"
He looked at you with large eyes.
"I g-got lost. What's wrong w-w-with you?"
He looked down.
"I'm the only ninja in the village who can't do Ninjutsu or Genjutsu. Everyone says I'm not good enough to be a ninja."
You shook some stray drops from your hair
"But y-you can still do t-Taijutsu?"
He nodded.
"Then why not be the f-first ninja who can only d-do Taijutsu. You'd be a legend!"
Lee cracked a small smile. "Yea!"
The young boy jumped and and tackled you in a large hug. "Thank you (y/n)!"
He pulled away, now soaking himself. "Oh. I suppose you should change huh? I'll walk you home!"
The boy grabbed your arm and pulled you up.
Five years later
The redhead glared at your partner. His eyes full of blood lust. The Chunin exams have begun and the Preliminary exams had started
Lee vs Gaara
As always, Rock Lee was the first to say a mouthful of words before fighting. The sand ninja waiting patiently for him to finish. I couldn't hear what he was saying but finally the fight begun.
"Be careful." You whispered quietly
