Ok, this one has mentions of gore. Please be advised to cringe.
-No one's POV-
Dr. Laird carried Arthur through the halls of Hemworth Labs with an almost permanent cheery smiles on his face. Workers looked at at him and more so, the downer on his back curiously. But they didn't dare try to approach him. For he and the downer were both dangerous. The downer was quite obvious, downers were always thought dangerous. A doctor however, though respected, is more menacing than a downer. And everyone knows that.
Laird soon entered a well-lit lab area, with a few other doctors messing with their chemistry sets. On his left were several white glass-sealed rooms with a resident in each one. The Subject Chambers. Where test subjects are kept and used for later testing. Most of the subjects were downers or wastrels. The subjects either banged on the glass, infuriated by his presence or cowered in the corner, spooked by his presence. Some, however, did the latter and payed him no kind of acknowledgement at all. Drawing on the walls, picking at their skin, or whining about "too many rainbows". The doctor strode up to a chamber; a bit bigger than most of the other ones, and pressed a red button that made the glass window slide up for entry. He gently placed Arthur on a red-stained bed; clearly not cleaned up after the last "test", and strapped his arms with restraints.
"Oh, Dr. Laird! An'other one n' for the coco Joy?" Says an eager, Scottish doctor, Dr. Cormag, who acknowledged the new downer on the bed.
Laird turned around with similar eagerness. "Oh no my good fellow. This one is a bit special don't you see?"
"Hm?" The fellow doctor raised an eyebrow with intrigue.
"This is the Dex Downer of course! The one that Dr. V sent for." Laird clarified.
Another doctor, Dr. Fenningway, overhearing this, walked over to join the conversation. "Yes! The rather Dexterous Downer. I've heard a lot about 'im. Said to be the solution to or' Joy problem."
"The solution' for the Solution'!" Cheered Dr. Cormag.
Dr. Laird nods."Yes yes indeed. We should prepare him for the examination process. Dr. V should be here-"
"I'm already present, Dr....." Says Dr. Verloc, who seemingly appeared out of no where.
"Ah! D..Dr V! How nice to see you." Says Dr.... in surprise.
Verloc immediately walks over to the unconscious downer. Leaning over him for a closer look. "Erm...has he gone through examination yet?"
The Dr. Cormag tapped his fingers together nervously."Um...not yet sir. He's jus' been brought 'ere. So-"
"But we're just goin' through that now! We're checking up on him right now!" Piped up Dr. Fenningway.
"Well then, you'd best better get to it then. Not a moment to waste!" Verloc walks away from the downer and to a chemistry desk, arranging different colored substances in vials with on the chem set. "The more progress the better!"
Dr. Cormag nod and hurries over to Verloc to help make another substance. Luckily Verloc is in too good of mood to wish Cormag out of his work space. And Cormag decides to keep it that way for now. He mixes a few substances around then glances over to the other two, motioning them to help as well. Dr Laird and Fenningway blink at other for a moment before hurrying to the medicinal machinery and tools. All together they begin setting things in place for the first examination.
30 minutes later...
Arthur groans as he opens his eyes to the wall lights shinning in his face. The lights eventually dim as his eyes adjust, able to fully open. He tries to cover his face for a little extra shielding but realizes he can't due to the feeling of leather holding down his limbs.
