A Hyuga thing

  From afar he watched her silently as he usually did. His pearly eyes were trained on her, and only her. As it would happen to be, the long-haired brunette developed a crush on someone...

peeking around the corner he followed her being careful not to alert or scare her off, which was fairly easy seeing as she was almost always on the alert. Luckily he was good at sneaking around.
He wouldn't know what to do if she caught him. He could barely speak to her as it is.
"so I'm guessing it's a Hyuga thing?" said a voice smugly. His eyes widened a great amount hearing the voice speak up behind him.
Whipping around to the source of sound Neji was met with charcoal colored eyes, almost dead black in color staring directly back at him.
'a Hyuga thing? what is he referring to?' Neji questioned himself.
"what is...?" Neji asked sai.
" stalking" replied the team 7 member.
Stalking
immediately his eyes narrowed as a faint blush overtook the color of his usual skin tone.
" w-what do you mean stalking? I do no such thing!" he said in defense while crossing his arms. His eyes looked over his shoulder, Noticing the (h/c) girl was gone.
'great' he thought visibly shrinking.
" is it not stalking one follows another without their knowledge or consent?" sai said with curiosity.
"she seems quite oblivious to the fact that you were practically waiting to pounce on her... or tell me... where you going to ambush her?" sai added tilting his head.
whether or not he knew it he had a way of irking people, and Neji was no exception.
Especially at this point.
" of course not..."Neji replied with a sigh.
"so... you like her?" he said with certainty.
The Hyuga nearly choked on his own spit " Whoever told you that is a dirty liar!" he blurted out fuming.
Sai frowned slightly. He was certain his observations were correct on this one; no doubt.
"I didn't need to be told anything, because based on my previous observations, the other Hyuga observes Naruto in the same form you do (f/n). She seems to be infatuated by him so I simply assumed you like (f/n).. do you not?"
The brunette couldn't speak or deny as his mouth went dry. He then pressed his lips in a Firm Thin Line, hoping to have a good response pop up in his head, but he just couldn't think straight at the moment. seeing the lack of verbal response sai took a different approach.
'perhaps Neji didn't understand...?' sai thought innocently.
" do you not understand? let me rephrase it so there are no confusions then," he said with a closed eye smile- the one he was infamous with.
-this just couldn't be good.

"do you like her as in... how do I say this...Ah! are you sexually attracted to her? she's opposing gender and you seem to be heterosexual... unless you find men to be more your preference." he said without so much as an ounce of modesty.
'vulgar, vulgar, vulgar.' neji chanted in his head in disgust.
it was disturbing.
The byakugan user's eyes were as wide as they could be and his mouth was left agape.
"...Come to think of it, that would explain your almost feminine appearance..." sai continued happy to keep talking.
does this boy have no shame ? does he not know boundaries?
" what of course not I do no- " he began, only to be interrupted.
" you mean you do not wish to mate with her? I find the thought of her sexually stimulating... she's quite attractive, her breasts are quite ample and her butt looks firm and dare I say ravishable? or was I mistaken and you prefer a male counterpart? I only ask because of simple curiosity. I mean no harm" sai said putting his hands up in defense, the same smile adorning him.

'You little pig' Neji thought angrily, clenching his fist.
"what the hell are you talking about! that is my personal information and don't you ever make such remarks about her again," he said nearly breathing fire, resisting the urge to attack the other male.
"But, but you obvi-."
" I do not like her!" Neji snapped cutting him off.
-how did this escalate so rapidly?

"Who (f/n)?" said a drowsy voice. Shikamaru picked his ear nonchalantly joining in the argument uninvited.
" why would you think we were speaking of her?" Neji nearly squeaked.
-was it really that obvious that he liked her?
'impossible, I've been so careful, so-'
"weeelllll, everyone just knows you're head over heels in love with her!" chirped ino behind the Nara as she flipped her long blonde locks.
'That answers that' Neji thought bitterly.
a smirk made its way on her pink lips as she saw his expression, and boy it was priceless.
It was so rare to see if only she could have captured it.
-it would have definitely made a great memory.
" or am I mistaken huh neji~" she added in a sing-song voice.
" yeah I mean come on man you follow her everywhere!" Shikamaru added smirking as well.
-OK, he definitely wanted to see where this was going.

-Neji was cornered and being attacked by just about every direction by this point.
...and It just wasn't fair.
" that is not true! I would never do such a thing!" he argued with a practically melting face.
He was certain that not even Hinata's most flustered expression could compete with his by this point.
"Yeah right, Hyuga, every time I come near her your scent is in the area" exclaimed Kiba who was perched on his furry buddy's back. Even Akamaru gave a short bark in confirmation.
'is the room spinning or is it just me?' Neji wondered absentmindedly.
"this conversation was between me and sai, so why the hell are all of you suddenly involved?" Neji growled.
Everyone shrugged at the same time.
"I was bored," said Shikamaru
" same here" added Kiba raising his hand.
Akamaru barked his own opinion.
" I like drama," ino said simply, like it was the most obvious answer.
"i'm still curious.."sais sai in a mumble.
Neji blinked a couple of times before pinching the bridge of his nose with an annoyed grunt.
pride
Pride, was the word that most definitely associated with him and for that reason, he would no longer stand for the interrogation. Not for the entertainment of others ( or for whatever reason Akamaru gave him)
" I have no reason to Simply stand here and let these false accusations be pinned against me just for your entertainment." he huffed and sharply turned around, hoping to leave all the shame behind him, but as luck would have it his body met with another harshly.
"Ouch!" said a feminine voice.
- 'this could not be happening.'
(f/n) sat on her bum on the dirt road, clutching something to her chest. she then looked up at him almost like a kicked puppy, but that soon faded as she realized it was him. Slowly she stood back up dusting off any dirt that had gotten on her.
" I didn't mean to are you alright ?" he said frantically inspecting her. His eyes darted all over her making sure she wasn't hurt.
she burst into a fit of laughter and shook her head, catching his attention. "calm down Neji, I'm all right!" she said in between giggles
" boy you sure take worrywart to a new level." she teased.
" Excuse me for being a gentleman and not wanting you to be hurt," he said pouting.
"Nevermind that," she said waving it off, " But, remember when you offered to help me with my taijutsu though? Does that ring a bell?" she asked him with her own pout, lightly poking his chest with her index.
" aha...ha I somewhat recall, " he said nervously.
A day, just with her..yeah he remembers that.
He chickened out and decided that he just could not spend a second alone with her. He could not risk suddenly confessing his love, or grabbing her and forcing her into a deep kiss.
Though he would want nothing more, he didn't want to look like a fool
"you said you would, but I haven't seen you... it's like you've been avoiding me.." she said quietly, bringing him from his thoughts.
"you're not avoiding me are you?" she questioned him with a look that made his heart stop. everyone in the back snickered at the comment, it was quite obvious what was really happening. ignoring everyone else's little side noises, he focused on her.
"of course not," he said softly. "I have been busy as of late, but if you wish to we may begin today," he said reassuringly, hoping that she would perk up. God, he hated that little-broken look she had just then.
" really?" she said happily, immediately lighting up slightly.
" yes, of course" he replied smiling just a tiny bit.
" that's great! I'll meet you in the training grounds in half an hour, alright?" she said grinning and running off to who-knows-where.
" oooohhhhh, Neji has a date~" everyone chanted in unison.
'oh they're still here'
his only response was to vanish in a puff of smoke and avoid any of their more abusive interrogation.
" well that was fun," said the pineapple-haired young man. "now what ?" he questioned everyone.
immediately a devilish look came across the Yamanaka.
" sooo...shikamaru, how are things going with Temari?"
"I have a question about that!" sai said eagerly, with both the dog boy and his companion agreeing.
" what a drag..." Shikamaru mumbled.
