It was a bright, sunny day outside but Paige was inside on the couch, fretting the results of her sisters latest test.
Her parents and sister arrived home after one of many frequent visits to her specialist. Paige sat down on the couch next to her sister with her parents on either side. They carefully informed them more about Ella's worsening condition. "They aren't able to stop the tumor from growing Ella," he paused, "and t-th-they have only given you a month", her dad finished.
Scared, Paige ran out of the house in a blur down to the bay and the tears didn't fall until she was nestled in her secret cove. The sky grew dark and gloomy as if the world had just realised this wasn't supposed to be a cheerful day. The waves started crashing against the shore and formed a bizarre looking figure who began to speak to her in a deep voice.
He told her about this mystical Emerald Crown that was legend to be hidden among these waters and whoever was to behold the crown was able to grant any wishes imaginable.
She became angry and frustrated thinking it was someone's idea of a sick joke and hurled whatever rocks and sticks she could find at the creature; it crashed leaving her soaked and alone.
