Safire walked closer to the people. She was now standing right in front of a man and it looked like he was looking right through her.
"Hello? Can you help me? I fell asleep while I was driving and I've fallen off the--" she was interrupted by the man taking off to run. Safire was confused. The man ran straight through Safire and caught a flying coconut. Safire was even more confused. She may not be extremely smart but she knew people couldn't just run through each other. She walked up to a woman this time and waved her arms about. No reaction. Safire was starting to think she was all alone. No one could see her, nor hear her. She went and sat on a tree log lying on the sand. She watched the people play and dance and do their daily activities. She remembered what it was like for her when she was at home. Sitting around on her phone all day, sneaking out to parties and getting hungover. Her thoughts were interrupted yet again. A elderly woman had her hand on Safire's shoulder.
"You're lost ain't ya?" Safire looked at the lady in confusion and surprise.
"How can you see me?" She asked.
"I see all the dead spirits and I help you get home." Dead? Safire thought. She wasn't dead she was-
"-alive? You were once. Something must have happened to bring ya to the afterlife. Do you remember what?" Safire gasped. She slept through the car crashing into the ground because she was dead.
"I fell asleep while I was driving on the cliff." The woman looked at her. She was sincere and empathetic.
"You have a choice. Maybe the biggest one you'll ever make. You can either stay here and try to find a way home or go into the afterlife and not have to worry about what's going on out here. Whichever one you choose. Your family won't be able to see you. You'll be a ghost if you stay. However, if you go to the afterlife, you won't be able to see your friends and family until they pass too. What's your choice?" That was a lot to take in. Finding out you died and then having to choose either to stay or to go. Safire thought for a while. Staying meant that she could see her friends but they couldn't see her. What would that do apart from make her sad? If she went to the afterlife she could party and wait until her friends died too.
"I'll go. That's my final choice."
"Be safe child. Don't party to hard." The woman pointed at a door that magically appeared. Safire walked towards it and turned around. "Thank you" she said as she walked through the door.

Safire was destined to die. She had made no progress in her life and she was always to make the worst decisions. For herself and the people around her. Don't drive when you're tired.
