We drove to the beach laughing and talking like nothing had ever happened and I'm glad because this is the way it should be. It's just me and Jake being normal teenagers going to the beach as normal best friends. I knew that he wanted something more at one point, but I'm sure he's passed that and understands they we are just friends. Isnt that how it always been meant to be?
We parked somewhere along the beach and got out of the car. Taking a deep breath, the ocean smelled just like it always has. I'd missed this. I knew it was only a couple days that I was gone, but it really felt like months.
