Once Mark finished helping the teachers he began walking to the house. It was late since he told the the others to go ahead as he finished moving supplies.

He passed by a small wooded area, not uncommon as the town was surrounded by woods.

He stared at the trees for a short time before deciding to walk in. The air that day was chilly, but not so cold that Mark couldn't handle it.

He walked deeper in the woods before stopping in front of a ray of moonlight that had slipped through the treetops.

He sat under the beam of light and stared up towards the moon.

What do I do? Should I stay? They feel like family, but I know I'll never truly belong here. How long can I keep it up?  How long until this all backfires, and the pack is hurt because of me?

"Hey!"

Mark jolted at the voice, turning to see Yugeom jogging toward him, which didn't relieve him very much.

"Where have you been? Everyone's worried." Yugeom was out of breath, his face was red, apparently he had been running around town looking for him.

"What do you mean? I've been at the school, we've only just finished."

Yugeom looked confused. "You finished at 3 am? They kept you that long?"

It was Mark's turn yet again to be confused. He looked at his watch and surly enough the time was five past three. He looked up and even the moons light had shifted off of him.

"No, I finished at 10, I guess I just lost track of time." Yugeom sighed, and walked over to help Mark up whose legs had fallen asleep.

"You need to be more careful, and at least let someone know where you're going. I'll assign someone to watch over you when you come home."

Mark slipped out of Yugeoms hold, "No I'm fine, I just lost track of time."

"You made everyone worry, so we're gonna have to make sure you're okay from now on,"

"I don't need prote-"

"Come on I'll help you walk home." Yugeom wrapped his arm around Marks shoulders holding him up. Mark felt a rush of heat and sweet smells, but also anger.

"I said I'm fine!" He pushed Yugeom away.

"I don't need some daddy's boy to help me, I've lived longer, and I've lived on my own my whole life I don't need you to take care of me!"

Yugeom looked confused and hurt by Mark, that soon turned into frustration.

"I was only trying to help you!"

"And I said I don't need your help! I've fought to survive my whole life and I don't need some prissy alphas son to make sure I'm okay."

Yugeom bit his cheek and looked away from Mark.

"Fine. If that's how you feel, then be on your own." Yugeom stormed away. His heavy footsteps echoed errily through the trees, and became silent as he went further away.

Mark leaned against a nearby tree, his legs still numb, and he sighed, dropping his head against the sharp bark

"I will, I always have been."
