After all she had been through to keep her powers secret, Caitlin never expected this to be the thing to keep her chilly alter-ego at bay. She never imagined it would be so embarrassing either. It wasn't as if it was a completely awful thing either. Barry wasn't a bad kisser, he was fine- well it was much better than fine but Caitlin was too shy to admit that to herself let alone anyone else.

Besides, that's all this was- convenience. To both of them. Barry, specifically, kissing her happened to be a very efficient way to turn her back to herself when she had a Frosty Episode. They didn't know why and honestly they didn't want to know. Too many awkward questions and even more awkward answers. It was better that they just left things the way they were.

They tried to make it not awkward or at least they acted like it wasn't. There's only so much kissing action people can take before things start to get... odd. But they all just pretended all was fine even if it was just a tad little bit awkward.

You may be wondering how this whole kissing fiasco started. Well, one evening a few weeks back Caitlin was still at the lab way past when she should be and Barry tried to get her time go home and rest. They were the only ones still there and it was true that it was getting late but Caitlin simply fired back the same remark.

Since Iris left him for another man, he had often been held up at the lab later than her. She knew that it was a low blow but she got snappy when she was tired. A part of her heart thawed when she saw the hurt enter his eyes which were beginning to shine with tears but he quickly blinked them back.

"It's alright, you didn't really mean that. It's just Her talking. But please, Cait, it would make me feel so much better knowing that you are doing better. I know for the last few months I have been completely ignoring you and everyone else because of... Well, you know why. But I want to make things right and that especially includes helping you" he spoke slowly and forlornly, sitting in the chair without you. He edged his hand onto hers and gripped her hand gently.

Although she tried to force it away, Caitlin couldn't help but remember all of those terrible months when he hadn't been there for her. She could hear the sincerity in his voice and how much he meant it but still, she felt her whole body grow cold and lifeless.

Batty could feel it too. The sudden drop of her hand was impossible to miss. Or the way her light grip on his hand had become incredibly tight almost painful. His eyes widened and looked to hers: blue.

"Cait, please, I'm sorry I didn't mean to. I'm so so sorry" he practically begged.

"You don't need to be sorry" She smirked with a glint in her eye. It went a chill down his spine.

"I don't?" he questioned clearly confused. Something about her demeanour showed that perhaps she didn't want to kill him. But in that case, what did she want?

"I must say, how do you put up with Caity all the time? So uptight, no fun at all. Never does wants she really wants. Not like me. You need someone to have fun with" she stood up and started circling his chair, speaking snarkily and against his better judgement seductively. That couldn't be it, could it? She doesn't want... Well, she just can't.

"I know you just as well as she does but I know exactly what you need. But she is far too shy to admit it" she continued, stopping in front of him and leaning her head almost completely against his.

Barry felt like he should move but he was paralysed to his seat. He couldn't even look away from her piercing blue eyes, he was so nervous. He could barely understand what was happening to him but there had always been this aura about her when she was like this. You could never take your eyes off her whether because of fear or... whatever else. She was completely intoxicating.
