Chapter Eleven
I woke up to the feel of someone jabbing their knee into my back which became extremely uncomfortable after a while. I turned around to see Melissa sound asleep in my bed. Right.. Last night she came home with me, and we talked all night about my past relationship with Anthony. She cried a few times and I tried not to the whole time.
Rolling out of my bed, a soft knock sounded on my door. I groaned and ran a hand through my thick black mess of hair and walked over to my door, opening it. I expected my mother, but instead there stood a nervous looking Anthony. I mean, I would be nervous too after having me yell at you to not ever come around me again. While that was partially true.. I sort of regret that. Still, why the hell was he in my house? My parents...
"Uhh..." I rubbed the back of my neck as I glanced down to see that I was only in my boxers right now, showing off my tattooed chest. He quickly glanced over me, and bit his lower lip softly until movement inside my room caught his attention.
I stepped through the doorway, shutting the door behind me. I did not want to wake up Melissa if I ended up yelling at Anthony again. "What do you want?" I said groggily, letting a yawn out.
"Who's with you?" He asked me accusingly, like he had a right. I narrowed my eyes and stood up straight. I was still taller than him, that was something that hasn't changed. I looked down at him dangerously. How dare he accuse me of anything. It was my life, and he wasn't my boyfriend anymore. While it was just Melissa, if it was someone else it was none of his damn business.
"What does it matter?" I hissed and he took several steps back, raising his hands up defensively. "Look, Anthony, could you just... go? It really isn't a good time."
"Yeah, I bet," he muttered barely audible, but I definitely heard him. He turned on his heels, and began to walk back down the stairs when Melissa opened the door and stepped out, fully dressed. Anthony stopped and turned around to look at her, his face softening a little.
Melissa's eyes widened at the sight of Anthony, but soon recognized what was going on. She hurried by me, kissing my cheek sweetly, "I have to get to work, call me later, kay?" Her eyes shifted to Anthony, offering him a small smile before waving goodbye. Her eyes were still really red and puffy from crying, but she looked pleasant otherwise.
Anthony stood their awkwardly on the steps, probably feeling back for assuming anything before he knew for sure. I sighed and rubbed my eyes before I opened my door, motioning for him to come in. I figured I would just get this done and over with. I would let him tell me whatever he wanted to come here to talk to me about. I grabbed a pair of shorts, pulling them on as well as a shirt.
Anthony appeared in my doorway not quite sure to come in, but I made another motion for him to get his ass in or I was going to kick him out of my house. As I sat down at my computer chair he stood awkwardly in the middle of my room, rubbing his arm like he used to when he was nervous.
His blond hair was gelled up to be perfectly spiked, showing off his bright blue eyes, that just begged me ro melt, but I took every ounce of my strength not to do something stupid.
"Well?" I crossed my arms over my chest.
"I'm sorry about last night..." he began and I opened my mouth to say something, but he quickly began to speak again, "I just-I thought that everything would be alright between us. I didn't expect you to explode on me like that. You're different, Jay." He spoke calmly, but I could feel the bubbling rage burning inside me, wanting to come out. He walked over to me and sat down on my bed, leaning over to get closer to me.
