Cordelia’s POV

People in blinding white lab coats surrounded me and pulled me in all directions. I’d had enough manhandling of me today and so I shouted, “I am a human, I do have rights!”

They looked at me strangely and the room fell quiet. “What are you looking at?” I said, “I mean, it’s not like I’m some mythical creature that's only just been discovered!”

I then realised why they were looking at me. “Oh… well that's kind of awkward.” I said.

All of a sudden they started pulling me around again. My hair was as messy as a bush, my clothes were torn and my arms were peppered from where they had taken my blood. I was exhausted and needed to rest.

“OI!” Yelled a voice “Leave her alone” I turned in the direction of my saviour.

“Why should we listen to you?” a man on my right said. “You’re not the Commander”.

“I might not be the Commander, but I have special instructions to look after her. She is special after all”. He replied.

Men and women scattered to get out of his way as he strolled over to me. “This Commander, he must carry a lot of power around here, maybe I shouldn’t have spat at him.” I shrugged, as I realised I couldn’t change the past.

He grabbed my arm and pulled me out of the lab. “Thanks” I said.

“That’s ok Fishgirl,” he said.

I knew that voice anywhere. It was Gary.
