Chapter 4

Sooji's fidgeting nervously in the passenger seat. "Babe...are you okay?", Shihyun asks her worriedly.

"Huh? I am fine....", she should be the strong one today. It's Shihyun's mom memorial day for God sake.

"You look nervous...."

"I just....it's..mmm...", how should she explain this. "Your grandma....she hates me...". She still remembered the last time they've met.

"It was six years ago....she must forget it already...."

"I hope so....", but her feeling said that his grandma still hates her and this meeting will be a disaster.

"Don't worry...I am on Choi Sooji's side..remember...", Shihyun winks at her. Sooji just rolls her eyes. How could he still joke about that? But part of her is glad. At least he already back, being her cheerful Shihyun.

Thank God, they've arrived early. So less reason for his Grandma to be mad at them. They wait for a while, in some kind of living room. Till finally his Grandma and his Dad show up.

"Grandma...", Shihyun smiles and gives his Grandma a hug. Shihyun is her only grandson, that's why she loves him so much.

"It's been a while...", his grandma smiles patting his shoulder. "You look happy..."

"I am...", Shihyun smiles. He can't wait to introduce Sooji to her. Even though they already knew each other, but this is the first time he officially introduces Sooji to her as his fiance.

"What is she doing here?", his grandma asks coldly. Pointing at Sooji who's standing behind Shihyun.

"What?", Shihyun caught off guard with his grandma sudden cold question.

"I am Choi Sooji...", Sooji tries to smiles and bows to greet her.

"I know who you are...I am asking why are you here?"

"I...", why is she here again? She questions herself.

"Because she's my fiance grandma...she's a family...", Shihyun explains. "I thought you already knew that...", even if he didn't tell her yet, Shihyun believed that someone must already report it to his Grandma.

"I thought you weren't serious about that..", his Grandma said nonchalantly. "You knew what her mother did with your Dad before."

"Halmeoni!!!", Shihyun looks at his grandma in disbelief. He never thought she was going to say something like that.

"What? Am I wrong? Besides...she's not your wife yet...so she isn't family..."

"But...", Shihyun wanted to argue with his grandma but Sooji grabs his hand to stop him.

"It's okay...she's right...", Shihyun's looking at her.  Worried that she felt hurt. "It's your mother memorial...don't ruin it with anger...okay?", she whispers in Shihyun's ear.

"How about you?"

"I'll wait for you at home....bye..", she kisses his cheek to show him that she's fine. And to make his annoying grandma more annoyed. Then Sooji left.

She takes a deep breath as soon as she gets out of the room. What she was afraid before finally happened. His grandma hates her since they were just friend. And it seems like she hates her more now. Great!

"Hi mom....", Sooji greets her mom who've been busy with a stack of paper in front of her. She decided to visit her mom instead of going home.

"Sooji ah...", her mom looks at her surprised but his lips instantly curled up into a smile. "What are you doing here?"

"Just stop by...I miss you..."
