The Great Seducer : Another Road

Chapter 8

"Here we go...the popcorn is ready....", Shihyun brings the popcorn to the living room. Sooji's already waiting in the sofa and wrap herself under the blanket.

"Hmmm...it smells good...", she gives Shihyun a space beside her.

Shihyun back to the kitchen to take the drink. "Hot chocolate with three marshmallows for my Sooji...and americano for me...", he puts two mugs in the coffee table.

"Coffee this late? You won't be able to sleep...."

"I still have a few papers to read...", he sighs.

"Yaa...if you still haven't finished your work, why did you ask me to a date?", how could he become so unresponsible?

"Because I want to spend more time with you..."

"Go...finish your work...It's okay...I'll watch alone...", Sooji doesn't want to give more reasons for his grandma to hate her.

"Ssshh...Come here....", Shihyun pulls her to his side. And let her head rest on his shoulder. "It's our date night....I want to enjoy this night with my favorite girl..."

"Is it really okay?"

"It's fine...just a few documents I need to recheck before I sign..."

Sooji smiles and snuggles in his chest. "This is so much better than watching at the theatre..."

"It is...", Shihyun is stroking her hair gently. A few minutes into the movie, Sooji gets up abruptly. "What's wrong?"

"I need to go to the bathroom..."

"Should I pause it?"

"No..it's okay...", Sooji forces a smile. And run to the bedroom hurriedly.  She takes her pill in the drawer and goes to the bathroom.

She turns on the water faucet. And groan in pain, clutching her stomach. Damn this is hurt. She gulps two pills at once, wishing the pain will subside faster. She drank her med. Didn't drinks alcohol and coffee. But why the pain kept returning. Okay, she skips a meal a few times, but in her defense, she compensates with eating twice as much after that. She needs to see her mom.

She gets out of the bathroom after the pain was gone. It's almost 15 minutes, she wonders why Shihyun hasn't looked for her yet. She's back to the living room and finds Shihyun sleeps soundly at the sofa. She smiles and went to his side.

She's staring at his sleeping face. And he looks...happy. His lips curled up into a little smile. He's really happy. That realization hit her hard. He's happy with her. That's what she always wanted. She's just too busy battling with the past, she didn't have the time to notice that. She traces her fingers gently through his eyebrows. He has great eyebrows. Thick and sharp shaped. He always hides it under his bangs. Maybe she'll tell him to push back his hair so it'll show his beautiful eyebrows. But, then everybody will know that he has beautiful eyebrows. And there'll be a lot more girl that will fall for her man. Did she really want that?

Sooji was too busy with his eyebrows. She didn't realize that Shihyun's already awake. "What are you thinking?"

"Oh God! You startled me..", Sooji jumps in shock.

Shihyun chuckles. "What were you thinking? You frowned so deep...it leaves permanent line..."

"Really?", Sooji's hand automatically reached her forehead. She's just in her late 20. There shouldn't be any wrinkles yet, right?

"I am kidding...", he reaches Sooji's hand and kisses it. Somehow that simple gestures still make her heart flutter. "What were you thinking?", Shihyun asks again.
