It was all dark. No light. And nearly no space. Where were they? Really her magic was starting to annoy her, the result never was what she wanted it to be. She felt Leola squeeze her wrist. Right, she hated small spaces. I fidgeted around trying to find a way out of this... This... Well this whatever we were in. I touched something that fell in a large eruption of dust and noise. Leola's nails dug into my flesh. I had to whisper, who knows what was out there.

"Leola, it's a broom, don't worry. If think we're in a janitor's closet or something."

Suddenly she let go of me, all fear gone, replaced with the shame of having been scared by a broom.

"Oh..."

She stuck her ear against what seemed to be the Door of our "prison".

"I can hear voices, I don't understand much though... Listen."

"No that's stupid why would I- "

"Shut up and listen Naïla."

I sighed and stuck my ear next to hers, the voices on the other side of the wood were hushed.

The first to speak was a young girl, older than Leola but probably younger than me. She had a slight Spanish accent and seemed to be crying.

"My jet! You filthy, disgusting, idiotic, brainless slugs let my jet get damaged! It was an accident okay! We didn't mean to crash in your roof! Do you really think I would have destroyed my baby just to get in this place!"

"You spies will be exposed!"

A boy had spoken this time, he seemed to be important, a leader, a warrior.

"Look, Chris here would rather have all her nails taken out one by one then crash her jet. And I, value my life way too much to go on a suicide mission."

And another boy. How many were they out there?

"Look I don't care. You've crashed into the palace while it was on high alert."

"But my jet! My jet! You're going to do something aren't you?"

"Well, first I'll get you to Ohano. That's where you'll stay until we figure out what to do with you."

A girl had spoken this time, she had a sweet voice, but I felt that disobeying her wasn't an option. I peeked through the keyhole and saw she had long, straight brown hair tied up in a ponytail. Even though she wore a simple hoodie, jeans and combat boots, she imposed respect and happened to be quite cute. They all walked away, leaving only two guards to watch over the possibly latino girl and the boy who had defended her.

And of course Leola did something reckless... It was the second time today. She was going to get us killed one of these times. I stared dumbfounded as she knocked out the two guards and walked over to the prisoners. She turned to me :

"Well what are you doing? Go faster!"

"You are driving me completely and utterly mad."

"It's in the job description. I mean literally. You wrote it on the contract when we met."

"Wow, wow, wow.... What's happening."

The boy had spoken, I could see his face now, he had messy ginger hair, tons of freckles and bright blue eyes. Luckily Leola answered, because I had no idea of what was happening.

"If you help us, and let us use your fonds, we'll get you out of here."

"We know a way out," she stared at me, fire in her eyes, "We'll find a way out."

"Okay considering what you blonde lady just did to those guards, we'll help."

"I'm Leola, that's Naïla. I'm an outlaw. She just got out of the prison for magic users. And now, we'll get you out of here."

Anna :

Intruders in the palace at a time like that is one thing. Losing Jase after running around the corridors to find a solution is another. I sighed, brushing my hair out of my eyes and looking around the corner for the hundredth time. Where had he gone? I turned to the guards that were still following me.

"Try to find Captain Carmichael, we need him."

They nodded, saluted and walked away. As soon as the guards were out of sight I leaned against the wall and stared up at the ceiling. So much pressure... I wouldn't be able to do it all. My lungs seemed to block all the air from coming in and I choked, my vision becoming blurry. Not now... I grabbed the medicine in my pocket as fast as I could and swallowed it. Good. The air was coming back.

As my vision came back I seemed to notice a silhouette at the corner of the corridor. Tall. Dark blonde with messy hair. Jase? But why was he following that girl that looked... Like me ? He seemed to be spying on her or me or whoever that was. That was all very confusing. So obviously, my only option was to follow him. As a good responsible friend of course... No other reason, no jealousy involved. I walked after him, still a little dizzy, my vision was slightly blurry but the heavy sound of Jase's combat boots lead the way. I followed as he exited the palace, spying on that girl that looked very much like me, two other girls, one with short blonde hair that seemed burnt at the tips and the other with long black hair, I could also see a ginger boy. All that was very weird... But I had no time for questions. Not now. Because they had started running....

??? :

She was running out of the palace. Following Jase obviously, she always followed him... I tightened my cloak around me, hiding my face in the shadow of the hood. No one could see me. No could hear me. I was a shadow that never should have left the palace.

And I was running after her.
