. - - . - - .You nervously stood in front of Padparadscha, one hand around her waist, the other intertwind with her fingers. You were about to dance. With your partner. For the first time...
Oh God...
This can only end in failure...
You took a deep breath as both of your gemstones had started to glow.
You took a step forward, and Padparadscha followed with a step back.
Then a step to the side, to which she follows.
Then back, then side, then forward. This repeats a couple of times before you started to change it a little. You slowly started spinning, twisting your foot and guiding her with your arm to make sure she'd catch on.
She was moving perfectly in sync with you, so you decided to move further ahead.
You began twirling her around, letting her take it at her own pace. Her dress was flowing elegantly along with her form.It was coming across beautifully. Now it was time for the finale part.
You began to move similarly to her, twirling and twisting your body. But when you were about to pull her into a dip your feet fumbled into each other, causing you to stumble across the sand and fall face first into it.
You pushed yourself into a seated position and stared at the ground where you had landed.
You can't believe it. You can't believed you failed. Right in front of her eye, too. Before she could say a word, you dashed off.
. . . . .
You were sitting at the edge of the water, sobbing.
Out of all the times you had to screw up, why then!? Why couldn't you get one damn thing right, for once in your life!?
.. What is she going to think of you now? As a screw-up? A joke?
Surely she hates you - no way she couldn't - not after your dumb mistake."Y/n?"
You jumped in surprise, quickly turning to see who's talking.
There, standing in front of you, is Padparadscha. She took a step closer and offered you her hand.
"Are you alright? You didn't hurt yourself, did you?" She asked, worriedly.
You looked up at her in surprise, she didn't seem upset like you thought. You shook your head, snapping yourself out of your thoughts.
You take her hand and pull yourself up, dusting off the sand with your other, "Uh, yeah, no, I'm- I'm fine.""Then why did you run off? Did- did I do something wrong?" She asked, raising a hand to her mouth in worry.
Oh, great, now you made her worry. "No, no! You did nothing wrong! It was me, all me! I was the one who messed up! I was the one who ruined our dance. I'm sorry: I'm sorry for making you worry, I'm sorry for tripping," You rambled.
"Y/n, you didn't ruin our dance. You just tripped, we all do that sometimes," Padparadscha reassured. "How about this time," she intertwined her fingers with your still held hands, "instead of planning all that out, we just move, dance how we feel like instead of following a form? If you want to." She smiled up at you.
You looked suprised, shocked that she would want to dance with you again. But soon you smiled back at her. "I would love that."
She took hold of your other hand, so softly you could barely even feel it, as if she was saying 'if you want to you can let go', and gently pulled you along. The two of you danced, swiftly and gracefully, but you were moving how you wanted do. Not following a specific form, just a style, a style all of your own.
Your gems started to glow and before you knew it, you had fused, making a beautiful F/n.And for the rest if the day, and maybe the rest if your lives, you had decided to stay as F/n.
