Peggy just stepped inside her house and watched as her friend started walking toward her house.

"But why mom! I just was a little late to class. What's the big deal?" She heard Miles say to their mother in an upset tone.

"A little late? You call fourty minutes late? What am I supposed to tell your father when I drop you off tomorrow and that he has to stay home all day because you got suspended for punching another kid?" Their mother said to her oldest son.

"You didn't hear what he said. If you were there, trust me you would know that a punch in the face is holding back." Miles defended himself.

Peggy kept her head down as she slowly walked to the kitchen, trying to not disturb the quarrel going on between mother and son. All Peggy wanted to do was put her keys down without being noticed but she knew it was a long shot.

Peggy set down the keys gently but apperently not gentle enough.

Clang! the keys went as they hit the bottom of the clay jar. She winced at the sound and slowly turned to look at the two boxers in the ring.

"Peggy!¨ Her mother said as she noticed her daughter was listening to the whole conversation. "How long have you been there?"

"Not long. Just got here." Peggy fibbed. She didn't want to worry her mother.

She looked over at her brother. She knew that he knew she lied. Peggy gave the slightest nod to her brother that would not have been noticed if he wasn't looking for it.

Peggy lifted her head and started walking to her room. She didn't make eye contact with her mother or Miles as she went to her room, which was on the other side of the kitchen.

As she started to close the door to her room she heard her mom whisper, "That girl doesn't deserve this family. She's to good for us." All she heard from Miles was just a quiet grunt.

Peggy sat at her desk and opened her backpack and pulled out her binder.

"Ugh! Homework! Why can't they just give us simple stuff for Spanish class. Stupid Spanish! I hate that class. I mean, even the seniors don't have this hard of work. This isn't right. We should go on strike against Sra. Hernandez." Peggy laughed at her own remark.

"I agree."

Peggy gasped and turned around to see Miles standing at her door smiling. She felt her muscles relax.

"Hey. How long you been standing there?" She said to her oldest brother.

"Not long. Long enough to hear you say that we should go on strike. I totally agree with that." Miles gave his sister a sweet and caring smile.

He entered the room further and came and sat on his sister's bed. He patted the bed lightly next to him, inviting Peggy to come sit with him. She got up and sat down. He wrapped his arm around her shoulder and she laid her head on his shoulder. They both sat there for a moment but then both jumped up.

"Trust each other and you will be free. All six of you. GO!" The voice yelled in both their minds.

They jumped off the bed and faced each other panting.

She heard that too? Miles thought to himself. The confusion on her face said that she was thinking the same thing about him.

"Peggy..." Miles said cautiously in case she hadn't heard it.

"Y... y... you heard that too?" She stuttered. All Miles did in reply was nod his head and gulp.

"When did you start hearing it?" Miles asked after a long moment of staring.
