"Come on mom, you look great. Now stop fretting about how you look or else you're gonna be late and you know first impressions last forever." I grabbed my mom's arm shoving her to the door with me with her handbag in my other hand.
I didn't want to dress to kill on my first day at a new school but for my mom it was vice versa, she wanted to look her best on her first day in a new hospital as if she was looking for a lover there.

I had chose to wear a long-sleeved blue T-shirt, white pants and white flats with small bow on them. The sleeves of my T-shirt were so long it reached the top of my knuckles.
I really loved blue since it complimented my eyes. I wore no makeup except lipgloss and I wore my hair loose in a cascading style which covered my small stud earrings. I chose a white backpack my mom recently bought for me and it made me wonder if I would be given a weird name in the new school for being clad in white and blue.

My mom drove her car out of the garage and gave me a wave of her left hand before zooming off.
I turned to Ben who leaned against his navy blue Toyota Camry looking good in a yellow T-shirt, black pants and a pair black Converse.
"Are you ready Trisha?"
I nodded suddenly feeling nervous. "Yeah, let's go Ben."

"Here we are." Ben smiled as he pulled into the wide lot of a group of buildings painted in cream, aqua blue and orange. "Welcome to Vincehill High."
The school was huge and it was only twenty minutes drive from home. Ben had told me in the car that even though Vincehill was a private school, it really wasn't different from a public school.

In Detroit, I attended a prep school with Hailey, a prep school with fancy uniforms and and too much learning of morals and discipline.
"Well this school isn't bad after all." I sighed getting out of the car feeling anxious.

I noticed people in the lot staring at me and Ben, probably me because I was new and also maybe because I was dressed in white and blue.
Many students greeted Ben warmly, dudes fist-bumped him. Girls said hi and smiled, some waved at me and I was invisible to others. I guess he was popular.

"I'm sorry Trisha, I'd really like to show you around the school before first period but I have a club meeting this morning. I just remembered and I'm also five minutes late." He said glancing at his wristwatch as we got to the door of the office where I'd collect my schedule and the school map.

"Okay no worries." I smiled genuinely. "I'd find my way around the school with the map so go on to your meeting. You won't want to be ten minutes late, Benjamin."
He nodded and gave me a small smile then ran off to the next hallway westward.

I had Biology first and second period and gymnastics class in third period, I was excited for my gymnastics even if it was two periods away from now.
I explored the school on my own, I had checked the gymnasts' gym, cafe, sports field, auditorium and basketball court.
I walked into the indoor pool for the school's swim team and was impressed by the size of the two pools there and how blue they were.

Maybe I'd start getting to like this city. I walked closer to the wider pool only to see something black moving in it, I moved backwards. My heart was thudding from fear, my heartbeat was so erratic.
Calm down Trisha, calm down. Maybe you're clearly hallucinating, maybe you're hallucinating, calm your heart down Trisha.
"Hallucinating about what?"

I jumped forward in fright abruptly as I heard a voice from behind me. Before I could fall into the pool, a wet hand grabbed my wrist.
I turned around to see who had scared the living daylights out of me: it was a guy standing to be 6'2 tall clad in black stretchy swim trunks. His body was wet and I watched as a drop of water trailed down from the side of his face to his tight abs. He had broad shoulders with really nice biceps.

A yellow bathing cap was on his head so I couldn't tell the color of his hair and his eyes since he also had goggles on.
I couldn't stop stop my scrutiny of his body and when he got rid of his goggles, bright emerald green eyes stared at me in amusement.
"What are you doing here?"
"Well I'm new here and I was checking out the school so I came here. At least there's no rule that says I'm not allowed here."
He chuckled allowing me to catch a glimpse of his white teeth.
