Soon after graduating from Hogwarts, your friends decided it would be fun to spend a year hanging out in the muggle world. Though it could be incredibly inconvenient at times, you were having a blast.
You took part in every muggle holiday and tradition you could, starting with the joy of the summer solstice. Now, it was October, and you all dived head first into every pumpkin spice treat you could.
Halloween was going to be so much better than Arbor Day, you just knew it.
"We should do something fun," James suggests. "Like go to one of those haunted houses or ghost tours or something."
Peter groans. "We've lived with actual ghosts, why should we see muggle ghosts?"
"Sounds like someone's scared," Sirius teases. "Besides, it'll be fun to make fun of."
~~~
"Sirius," you whine, pulling on his hand. "I don't want to."
He walks back to you. "(Y/N)," he mimics, "I'll be there to keep you safe."
"If we didn't go in, I wouldn't need you to keep me safe."
He frowns. "C'mon, (Y/N/N), you're a brilliant witch if anyone in this 'haunted' house tries to scare you, you can blast them into oblivion." He grabs you by your shoulders for emphasis. "Or you can jump into my arms, and I'll keep those scary people away from you." With a kiss to your forehead, he leads you into the haunted house.
As soon as the first actor jumps out, you bury your face in Sirius's chest. Although he will never admit it, he is just as scared as you, but knowing you trust him gives him enough courage to get through the rest of the house with you.
You still cling to him after you exit the haunted house. "Can we go home now?"
"Of course."
"I wanna watch Charlie Brown."
