Chapter 11: Around Every Corner

All of you get out of the train as you guys arrived at Savannah. You and the group walk along the streets and realized how empty the city looked, but all of you kept your guard up.
Clem walks up to Lee and saw that he had his walkie-talkie strapped to his belt. "Can't I just hold it?" Clem asked him. "Just for a little while? We're getting real close to where my mom and dad are, maybe I can--"

"Not now, I need you to focus. Keep your attention on the street." Lee said to him then he turns to you, as you come up on them, and said. "The same goes for you, sweet pea." You nod as Clem said. "Okay. Sorry."

"How's Omid?" Lee asked Christa.

"He's leg's pretty bad." Christa replied.

"I'm fine." Omid grumbles. "You're not fine, you need to rest." Christa said then she turns to Lee and said. "He needs to rest."

"Yeah, you're right. Kenny, hold up." Lee said bit Kenny keeps walking while everyone else stops. "Kenny, dammit! I said hold up!" Lee shouts and Kenny stops. "Omid needs to take a break, let's give him a minute." said Lee. "We're almost at the river, almost to the boats." Kenny said as he turns to face Lee. "Then it won't hurt to stop for just one damn minute." Lee shouts and Kenny glares at him before he takes a few steps forward.

Suddenly, you heard bells ringing. "What the hell...?" Omid asked, confused. "Maybe this city's not so dead after all..." Christa remarks as Lee looks up and noticed that it was the bell coming from the church that you guys were next to. "Keep moving. No-one's ringing that bell, it's automatic, on a timer." Kenny tries to assure but Lee looks down at his watch.

"What kind of church bell goes off twenty past the hour?" Lee asked him. Kenny didn't have a response to that as Lee looks up at the church again and saw a figure run along the roof. "Someone's up there!" Lee exclaimed.
"Are you sure? I don't see anything." Ben said.

"Hey! Hey you up there!" Lee shouts as he stares at the roof. "Dammit Lee, keep quiet! You're gonna--" Christa growled until the walkie-talkie comes on and the male voice comes through.
"If I were you, I'd get out of the street. Now." He said as Lee grabs the talkie. "I thought you said that thing didn't work!" Christa shouts as Lee pushes the button on the side of the talkie.

"Who is this? Is that you up in the bell tower?" Lee asked but there was no response. "What the hell was that? Is someone trying to fuck with us?" Omid asked. "Sounded more like a warning." Ben remarked.

Chuck turns around and his eyes widen in fear. "Ask not for whom the bell tolls...." he mutters. "What're you yammerin' on about?" Kenny asked and all of you turn around and saw a huge group of walkers coming your way. "It tells for thee... " Chuck finished just as the bell stops ringing.

"Everybody, RUN!!!" Lee shouts and all of you began to run while the adults took out some walkers that were in their way. During the commotion, you, Clem and Ben were cornered by some walkers and you grab Clem's arm in fear as the walkers come closer to you three.

"No! Ben! Help them!" Lee shouts in fear. Ben looks down at you two then over to the walkers, closes his eyes and runs away. Leaving you and Clem by yourselves, defenseless. "Dammit!" Lee shouts and he begins to shoot most of the walkers until one starts coming up on you two. Clem pushes you behind him as you two back away from it but Chuck comes behind the Walker and hits it with his shovel.

Lee runs to you two and hugs both of you as Chuck stabs the Walker in the chest with the shovel. "Get them the hell out of here! I'll catch up with ya!" Chuck yells at Lee. Lee stares at Chuck, who nods at him, and Lee grabs yours and Clem's hand and the three of you began to run away.

"Move your assses! River Street's right up ahead!" Kenny shouts as all of you make it towards him. "That's not all..." Ben said as more walkers come towards you guys. "Oh, gimme a fucking break!" Kenny shouts in annoyance.
