Melanie's P.O.V.

(In dream)

"Ok class today we will be learning about patronises. Now can anyone tell me what a patronus is?"  Two hands shot up next to me, Kaitlyn and Liz, and I scooted down to the table, pretending I wasn't there.

"Umm, yes Elizabeth!" The teacher said.

Liz cleared her thoat and said. "Well, a patronous is a defence against a dementor. It's powered by happy memories, as dementors feed off negative emotions and memories." She said.

"Yes! 5 points for Ravenclaw!" The teacher exclaimed. "Now, now that we know what patronouses are, we will try to produce one! Anyone want to demonstrate?" The teacher asked. Kaitlyn grabbed my hand and shot it up. "Ah! Miss Jones! Please come up!" The teacher exclaimed. I glared at Kaitlyn as I walked up. She and Liz smirked back at me. I brought out my wand and looked at the teacher. "Right! Now, all you have to do is think of your happiest memory. Got it? Good, now all you have to say is 'Expecto Patronoum' ok? Now try it!" The teacher finished.

I closed my eyes. My happiest memory was getting my letter for Hogwarts, and later finding out all the girls were going too. I said

"Expecto Patronum!" And saw and faint, misty light come from the end of my wand.

"Try harder Miss Jones!" the teacher said. I took a deep breath.

"Expecto Patrounum!" And another light came from my wand. This time, it had some sort of form, like, four legs, and a tail.

"One more try Miss Jones!" The teacher said again.

"Expecto Patronum!" I exclaimed for the last time. And an Arctic Wolf burst from my wand. I smiled as it ran around the room, and then vanished into thin air.

"Excellent work Miss Jones! ten points to Gryffindor!" The teacher exclaimed, and sent me back to my seat. "Now, lets have Elizabeth up!" Said the teacher. Of course, she got it first try, her snow leapard bounding around the room. "Lovely Miss Johnson! Take another point!" Said the teacher said happily. Remus was next. He got it on his second go, his Nigerian wolf running around the room three times before vanishing in front of Kaitlyn.

I watched as everyone went up, all sorts of animals leaping everywhere as they went one at a time. Herons, squirrels, rag doll cats and dogs ran around the room. I perked up when Kaitlyn had to go, because recently, I found out that if you loved someone enough, your patronous would turn into theirs. I smiled as she did hers, and then turned blood blush red as it turned into a female Nigerian wolf.

"I knew it! I knew it!" James yelled. Sirius and Peter where laughing. Skye, Riana, Elizabeth and I where giggling. Remus how ever was probably dying inside by the look of his face. Kaitlyn ran to take her seat her eyes still wide. Kaitlyn and Remus' eyes met every now and then which made me laugh evilly during one of the professors lectures.

"Miss Jones if your continue to disrupt my class you will be joining me and Mr black in detention for the rest of the month." The teacher said looking at me. I looked at my hands. "Anyways, Sirius. Your up."

Sirius got up in front of the class and waved his wand. "Expecto Patronoum" He said uneasy, and then what happened next made me wish that I could disappear. Out of Sirius' wand came a male Arctic wolf, just like mine. Sirius turned red as a tomato, and everyone in the class started cracking up. I started lightly thumping my head on the desk, and Kaitlyn put her hand under my head to stop me. I groaned. Was the boy THAT obsessed with me?

"I TOLD YA WE WERE MADE FOR EACH OTHER JONES!" Sirius called out from across the class room. His sarcastic, I-have-a-response-for-everything personalty was back.

"SHUT THE FUCKING HELL BLACK!!" I yelled. Then covered my mouth.

"Miss Jones! Go to detention right now! And take mister Black with you!" The teacher exclaimed. I sighed, gathered up my books, said goodbye to the Marauderettes and started walking down the hall, not waiting for Sirius.

"Melanie wait up!" I heard him say. I wirled around and stared daggers at him.

"Thanks jerk! now I'm stuck with detention with YOU!" I spat at him and started walking away to the Gryffindor common room to dump my stuff and go to get it over with. After I did dump my stuff, Sirius was waiting outside the door like he was escorting me to a special place. I rolled my eyes and huffed past him.

"Hey hey hey Jones. This is your own fault your here because swore in front of the teacher, if you didn't, you wouldn't be here with me!" He exclaimed, easily keeping up with me. Well, he was partly right. But if he hadn't said we were made for each other, I wouldn't have sworn. "Melanie. It's not the end of the Wizarding World. It's just an hour of detention. You'll live. And you don't have to be so snappy, I thought we were friends" He said softer then his normal tone. I sighed. There he was actually right.

"Ok. just make sure what you say is true. ok?" I asked him, and lightly giggled. He smiled and we walked. We were actually having a good time, and for once, I wasn't yelling at him for too much PDA. At last, we were at the door to detention. Before we went in I tapped him in the shoulder. He turned around to look at me. he was at least 6 centimetres taller than me, so he looked down at me.

"Yes?" He asked, smiling.

"You know we'll always be friends, right? You may piss me off at times, but we will always be friends, Ok?" I said softly, slightly smiling. He smiled at me and nodded. Then his smile disappeared, and his eyes flickered to my lips.

"What?" I asked. He didn't reply.

He leaned down and kissed me lightly on the lips.

I woke up and looked around. I wasn't in detention. I was in my smelly dorm. I sat up and curled into a ball, as it was kinda cold. I smiled as I re ran the dream in my head. That day was my first detention. And my first kiss with Sirius. I sighed as I heard one of the girls in my dorm get up. Welp. There goes the quietness of the dorm in the morning.
