They rode back to their apartment in silence, well, almost silence. Joel kept humming to a song he knew but couldn't place where he knew it from.  He was like a little kid, absorbing the scenery.

Joel had spent a majority of his life in Austin and in a matter of minutes it was like a foreign place to him.

Ray parked and got out, Joel trailing behind slowly. "I don't live here," he said with a confused look on his face. Ray punched in the code to the front door and held it open. "Yes you do. You don't remember moving in with me?" Joel shook his head.

"Well yeah, you've been here for the last four months."

"Oh," was all Joel said.

He looked around the apartment cautiously. "We share a bed," he asked. Ray's hands went to his pockets again. "Uh- yeah. But I can take the couch if you want." Joel turned and put his hand on his hip.

"Do you not want to sleep with me?"

Ray blushed-- hard. "N-no," he stammered. "I just didn't want to freak you out or anything." Joel rolled his eyes and wrapped his arms around Ray's thin body. "You're not gonna freak me out."

Ray's phone rang, ruining the moment. It was Geoff.

"Ray? Is Joel okay? Is he awake?" Geoff was frantic and worried. "Hey, yeah. Yeah. He's more than fine, actually." Geoff sighed in relief.

"That's good."

"Do you mind we stop by? I wanted to introduce him to the guys?"

"Yeah. Wait what?"

"See ya in a bit."

Ray glanced up at Joel who had a frumpy expression on his face. "Geoff?" "A friend of ours. Come on, let's go."
