Chapter 17

In the next ten minutes the ambulance arrived.

Arnav(taking her in his arms): Baby don't close your eyes, everything will be fine. Stay with me...

Hospital:

Khushi was in the ICU while Arnav and Arushi were waiting outside.

Arushi(sobbing): Daddy...Mummy will be fine na?
Arnav(taking her in his arms): of course she will be fine. Your mom is a strong woman... she would never leave us alone.

After a few minutes which seemed like hours for Arnav the doctor came out.

Arnav(standing up): Doctor how is she?
Doctor(looking down): Mr. Raizada as a doctor I did everything I could but right now we can't say anything. Due to the harsh hitting she had internal bleeding and she lost lots of blood . The next ten hours are very critical. Right now we can only pray that she responds to our treatment....
Arnav(trying very hard not to cry): I understand doctor. Thank you. Can we see her ?
Doctor: yes but only for a short time.
Arnav nodded and went in.

Meanwhile Sana and Karan arrived as Arnav also called them.

They went in to the room only to see Arnav and Arushi sitting on the chair next to Khushi.
Karan(confused): Mr Raizada what are you doing here? How do you both know each other ?What is Khushi doing here? How the hell did all this happen ?

Arnav(sighing): Relax....I will tell you later why I'm here. Khushi isn't fine.
She has internal bleeding and the doctor said if she doesn't respond in the next ten hours then we could..

Arnav couldn't end his sentence but Sana and Karan understood what he meant. They could see the love in Arnavs eyes for Khushi but they were confused. Confused, because why would Arnav Singh Raizada care for Khushi? What relationship are they sharing?

Sana(placing one hand on Arnav's shoulder): Hey don't worry she will be fine. Khushi is a fighter. She won't leave like that. (holding Khushi's cold hand)
You won't right ?

Arushi who was now hiding in her papa chest didn't know what to do.
Sana (composing herself and realizing Arushi is also there): Hello baby. How are you? Come here.

Extending her hands and Arushi happily went to Sana as Sana was like her second mother.
Karan(to Sana):Baby I will drop Arushi home to Aditya and the nanny okay? She is looking very tired.
Arushi(pouting): No I don't want to go. I want to be with mummy. When she wakes up and doesn't see me here then mummy will be angry and cry.

Arnav (caressing her hair lovingly): Baby when mummy wakes up we will call you okay. Just go for daddy's sake....promise me you'll be a good girl..

Arushi(convinced):pinky promise.

Sana and Karan were shocked hearing daddy from Arnav but thought that it isn't the right time to discuss that.
Karan drove home with Arushi while Arnav and Sana stayed at the hospital.

After a few hours Khushi slowly started to get conscious. She opened her eyes and saw Arnav but Arnav didn't see her as he was sleeping.
Khushi(weakly trying to speak):Arr...n.av
Arnav still didn't hear her.
Khushi one more time called him and he slowly opened his eyes to see Khushi awake. He stood up and hugged her while tears started to come out of his eyes.
Arnav (cupping her face): Khush are you fine? Oh my god I was so scared. I thought that I lost you.
Hiding his face in the crock of her neck like a baby.
Khushi: I'm fine Arnav. Relax.
Arnav: wait I'll call the doctor.
Khushi nodded.
The doctor came and checked Khushi.
Doctor: Mrs.Raichand you are very lucky to have a husband like him. He was so worried I can't tell you.
Khushi looked at Arnav and smiled.
Arnav was taken back with the smile.
He thought she'll get angry. His happiness knew no bound and he smiled back at her.
Doctor: Mrs.Raichand you are fine but there are a few blue marks on your stomach and don't worry they will heal with time. You need bedrest and no stress. You will have cramps sometimes but I will prescribe some painkillers for that. You will be fine in a week. So don't worry.

Arnav and Khushi thanked the Doctor
and he left.
After a while Khushi started to scan the room and realized that her baby isn't here.
Khushi(worried looking around ): Arnav where is Arushi ? Is she fine ?
Arnav(caressing her hair):shh...She is fine. Arushi is with Karan and Aditya. Don't stress yourself
Babe. It's not good in this condition.
Khushi nodded.
They were distrubed by a knock on the door. Sana entered the room and was surprised to see Khushi awake.
Sana(running to her): Khushi omg. You woke up.
She hugged Khushi.
Khushi(smiling) I'm fine sana don't worry.
Sana(giggling): Crazy girl you scared us.

Sanas phone rang. It was Karan
On the call:
Sana:Yeah baby.
Karan: how is Khushi?
Sana(smiling): Don't worry she is fine. She is sitting next to me fit and healthy.
Karan: Thank God. Anyways, you know the meeting with the Mehtas right? I can't attend it because of the kids. Can you attend it?
Sana(standing up): yes of course baby.
Karan: the meeting will start shortly, so hurry up.
Sana: oh okay. Don't worry I'll make it to the meeting.
Karan: bye baby. Take care.
The call ends
Sana:Guys I'm sorry I have to go. I have a meeting. I hope you don't mind.
Khushi: it's okay you can leave.
They hugged each other and Sana left.

At night:
A few hours later.Khushi needed to use the washroom urgently.
Khushi started to get up but couldn't. She held her tummy and hissed in pain. Arnav who was slowly drifting to sleep saw that and quickly stood up to help her.
Arnav(a little angry): Are you mad? Why don't you just tell me that you want to get up. Your wounds are still fresh. So just tell me what do you need?
Khushi(sarcastically): I need to use the washroom. Do you want to accompany me?
Arnav(smirking): Of course, if you insist.
Khushi(rolling her eyes): shut up Arnav.
Arnav carried her to the washroom. He stopped at the door and waited for Khushi to come out.
After two minutes Khushi came out and Arnav carried her to the bed.
He also helped her to sit on the bed and went to sit on the chair next to the bed.
After a while Khushi broke the silence.
Khushi(sighing): Arnav order something. I'm hungry.
Arnav smiled and ordered something to eat.

Next morning:
Arnav was the first one to wake up.
He looked at the Angel sleeping next to him and smiled. He kissed the corner of her lips and went to the washroom to fresh up. What he didn't know was that Khushi was already awake. She touched the spot where he kissed her and smiled slightly. Since yesterday she thought of forgiving him and something in her assured her that her Arnav changed for good.
Arnav came out of the bathroom and saw Khushi smilling.
Arnav(smiling slightly): Good Morning babe.
Khushi: Good Morning.
He was surprised. She wasn't angry for calling her babe. What happened to her? He thought.
