Chapter 5

On the next day in school, Eddie and Brittany presented their music assignment in front of their class.

After they were done, everyone clapped and Mrs. Smith gave them an A for their assignment.

Brittany: "You were amazing!"

Eddie: "Thanks! You too!"

For an extra thanks, Brittany gave Eddie a quick kiss on the cheek after their assignment. Some students were gawking and starting to ship them. While other students were staring with jealousy, especially Alvin. He was totally fuming up and was almost about to yell at Brittany to ask why she never gave him a kiss before. At the same time, he realized how embarrassing that would be so he kept his mouth shut but he gave Eddie the stink eye.

After class, Brittany was on her way to her locker when Alvin was running up to her. 

Alvin: "Hey Brit! Great work on your assignment."

Brittany: "Okay. What's your deal? Why are you suddenly being so nice to me?"

Alvin was trying to think of a quick excuse to make her not be suspicious towards his actions.

Alvin: "Uhmm... I was just trying to be nice to you. What!? I can't be nice to you. Well, excuse me for trying to be friendly to you."

Brittany: "Sorry. It's just that its weird that you suddenly be nice to me since we always somehow get on each other's nerves.

Alvin: "Well, I'm trying to turn over a new leaf."

Brittany: "Okay. Its good to know you are starting to change too. I'm also changing and my new look is totally sending that message out there, right?

Alvin: "Uh... yeah. Anyways, there's also something else I want to tell you. I overheard a conversation that Dave took with a stranger yesterday and he said that we are gonna perform on a concert as the celebrity guest."

Brittany: "That's great! I can't wait but I don't think I want to anymore."

Alvin: "What!? Why?"

Brittany: "I uh ... told you that I'm starting to turn over a new leaf too so the new Brittany will not be as self-absorbed as the old one.

Alvin: "But Brittany, this is a huge opportunity for us to sing on stage again."

Brittany: "Sorry Alvin. I've made up my mind."

With that, she walked away. Alvin was shocked and quite disappointed that he would not be able to sing with her. But Alvin Seville does not give up easily, he was gonna find a way to convince Brittany to join in the concert if its the last thing he does.
