"She," he whispered to himself as he followed the nurse, "was no match for me."
Yes. They are no match for you are they?
Who are no match for him?
The Weak.

Their voices echoed around Sar, "Welcome, Destroyer of Minds."
Sar turned to see his mother bright red from the trivial anger of being ignored.
They shifted, suddenly moving Their interest.
"What is your excuse?" the harsh words bounced off the intricately carved walls and pounded into Sar's ears.
"I love Sar but-"
"Yes? Do go on. But if you had known that he had powers and was essential to the government you wouldn't have abandoned him? So that you could've been known as the celebrity mother, instead of the woman who abandoned the nation's hero? Shame on you Cassandra Willows."
"No! Not tha-"
"What then?" They replied impatiently.
Sar's mother looked close to pitiful now- although no one seemed to realize she was simply acting, "I- I couldn't..."
Cassandra sighed, faking defeat, but still spoke with fiery belief, "You are right. I have no excuse for my behaviour. But then why would you three be willing to let me gaze upon you or even be in your presence?"
Their laughs were mocking and condescending, "You truly believe you are in our presence? You are in the hearing room, peasant. You should know how the system works by now. Are you not at the ripe age of- what was it again? Yes, thirty-one. You are lucky you know, most citizens your age are dead."
Sar noted with detached interest that she was gearing up to do something he could never summon the courage to do- disobey.
-------------
"Oh yes, excuse me for trying to give my child a chance for a better life. Have you no shame for making my son, who is only twelve, -over halfway through his life- work harder than you at keeping this country safe and orderly?"
A chorus of stern giggles -which should not have been possible- made her realize the consequences there could be for uttering another word, so Cassandra fell silent, looking towards her son for protection or at least some form of love. None whatsoever. Heaving an exasperated and slightly disappointed sigh, she glanced back at Them. They were constantly shoving her weakness- her obedience in her face.
The people who had stolen her son from her.
They had forced her to lie to him, her precious child, her baby.
They took him.
-------------
Sar glanced towards his mother, relieved she was no longer looking at him. No matter how many times he heard her thoughts, he knew he couldn't show any love to her, They had spies everywhere. The Aurei had warned him, if he loved anyone, they would be punished.
He was not meant to love, not when he was destined to kill.
He knew then what he had to do to become stronger, the Aurei had been whispering to him, telling him through their thoughts.
Then you know what you must do?
He knows, to strengthen himself he must-
Gain.
Any constructive criticism for me? How was it?
Whoever can guess Sar's REAL NAME first will get a dedication in the next chapter.
