Then you know what you must do?

He knows, to strengthen himself he must-

        Gain.

-------------

Sar fidgeted in front of her judging eyes. Would she ever stop?

"Well? What have you to offer to us?"

Sar avoided her silvery eyes glinting from the shadows of the dying day, "Well, you have something I can use to free myself and our planet."

She grinned sadistically, "I'm not what you expected, am I? You thought I was an innocent and stupid being, while I was the one who fooled you, Sar."

"Yes," he sighed, "Yes, I suppose you did trick me, Kalu."

She grinned victoriously, her raven hair standing on end.

"That's all you had to say," Kalu crooned, "Sweetheart."

Sar quickly guarded his mind, -making sure to leave lingering thoughts outside to give the illusion of trust- and cast a fleeting glance to the horizon while steeling himself for what was to come. He followed her down the dark opening on the mountainside.

-------------

They strolled along a dark corridor, a large crowd gathered behind them. Kalu glanced back at ever growing group only to see that they all pretended to be examining the floors or walls. She looked towards Sar and couldn't help but sigh in amusement. What he probably didn't know was that she was like him, she had power too.

Everyone in the compound did, from flying, to invisibility, to mind reading -although Sar was the most powerful out of all of them- to her power, indestructibility. While Sar thought that she died of a poison given to her by Them, she survived after the poison burned away her last weak bits of mortality.

While she would die of old age, nothing else could harm her anymore.

       Not even heartbreak.

-------------

Sar look with curiosity at the glowing carved jar set in the metal walls.

It's mother of pearl essence was an iridescent blue, that ranged from a deep sea green to a bright caribbean sky blue.

Uncharacteristically nervous, he stepped forward, "So I just drink it?"

"We did save it for a reason. We wanted to give it to the most powerful of... us."

"Well, I called you 'The Weak'. I shall just call the rest of you that as well."

"You know that we all went into hiding. But why? Why did you stay?"

"It is possible for me to love my mother," Kalu had the grace to blush at this. "I had to stay, They could have hurt her. But this, this thing of yours will strengthen me and destroy the Aurei once and for all."

-------------

Kalu watched with anticipation as Sar stood in front of her, glowing a coruscating blue. He let out an ethereal laugh before bright white light blinded her.
