Wednesday October 24 2018 East side medical center 4:13 pm Niyla
I woke up with a sharp pain in my head and someone holding my hand.
I shot up and felt severed pains in my stomach.
"Woah, slow down kiddo, don't wanna rip your stitches." Ti dad said.
I then saw Gabriel was holding my hand.
But I needed the comfort, so I pretend I didn't notice.
"Where's Ti."
"Um well." Gabriel got cut off.
"Good to see your awake Niyalani." Said the doctor.
"What happened."
"Well, you got shot in your side 3 times. It's a miracle, but the baby survived."
"Oh really! Do you know the gender."
"No, it's to early to tell. But you got stitches, so you have to wrap your whole torso until it heals. But no heavy activity. Bedrest until further notice."
"But I wanted to try out for basketball. Me and Ti were gonna do it. Where is Ti anyway. I wanna see him."
"Um well, currently he is in a medically induced coma, he was highly unstable. The bullet was millimeters from his heart. Luckily we got it out, but there was still heavy internal bleeding."
"My Ti is gonna die!" I started crying gravely while Gabriel rubbed my back trying to calm me down.
"What day is it?" I asked.
"It's Wednesday." Ti dad told me.
"What about school!?"
"You can't go to school if you wanted. Your on bed rest."
"Mr.Ti's dad, why aren't you with Ti."
"Just call me Paul, and I'm taking turns watching y'all. Right now his mom is in there."
"I've never met his mom. Is she nice."
"I mean she hates my guts for getting him involved with gangs, but ya she is nice."
"Well I'm go back to sleep. I feel lightheaded."
"Well go ahead get plenty of rest. A nurse will bring you food when you awake." The doctor said.
Time skip ahead November 11 2018
Today is my birthday and I'm still in the hospital.
All my friends have come and brought me things.
Even Javi came once and gave me this picture and ring he found in my closet.
But y'all will get to see that letter.
All I want is for Ti to wake up.
I haven't moved from this spot except for hygiene and bathroom breaks.
Also therapy cuz they think I have ptsd.
I decided to repeatedly press the bottom to summon a nurse.
"Yes what do you need?"
"Can I go see Ti today? It's my birthday for crying out loud."
"Just to shut you up, you've been asking everyday."
"Yayyyy, thank you, thank yuh, thank you so much."
" it's Whatever. Now let's get you in this wheel chair." - Ti's room was next door so it didn't take long.
He had these wires and a breathing tube.
"Well I'll leave y'all alone."
"Hi Ti. You probably can't here me, but today is my birthday. I'm 15 today. We almost the same age now. Though you turning 17 in a few. I missed you a lot. And ik I didn't say this before when you said it, but I was afraid. But now I know it. I'm in love with you too. People brought you a lot of gifts. I even met your brother. He was real nice. Actually to nice. But he knew his boundaries. He look so different from you, but y'all are blood. I also met your mom. She's my mom now." I laughed.
"All I want is for you to wake up, it doesn't have to be today, but I just want you to soon. Life ain't good with out you. Your dad had been really helping me. Though he is not that good with school, at least I'm not failing. I don't know what's up with Elian, but she started hanging out with Lala and her friends. She blocked me on everything. You think you really know a person." Then I started crying.
"Ti I need you. Life ain't worth living without you. And remember when I said you looked familiar. Back in elementary our moms were besties. When my mom actually loved me. We promised we would be besties forever and would get married. Javi found the ring you gave me in 5th grade when you had to move."

I then cried myself to sleep in bed next to Ti.

I woke up to someone asking what day it was.
"It's November 11th." I replied.
"Feliz compleaños bebé."
