One: An Unexpected Kiss
Song preference; Someone To You by BANNERS
Haley walked into her Chemistry classroom on a Wednesday morning rather early for her first period class. She strut towards the back corner of the room and found her one and only friend waiting for her in the seat next to hers. His name was Peter, Peter Parker.
Her and Peter had been friends for years on end. They were each other's company every day, and that's how it always was. Peter and Haley, Haley and Peter. They've been inseparable since they were young.
But it was never more than 'just friends' with them, they were always best friends with one another, and neither of them thought of each other in any other way. They didn't want anything to change between them, ever.
"So, are our plans for movie night still on?" Peter asks as he takes out his notebook and begins to take down the notes on the board.
Haley also grabbed her notebook and began to take notes, "Of course, Parker." she thinks for a second, then turns to her best friend, "It's almost the weekend, and we still don't have anything fun planned!" she says.
Peter finished jotting down his notes, then turned to her, "I know... but I have my internship with your Dad this weekend. I'm sorry, Hales." he says without meeting his best friend's eyes.
Haley saw the guilt on his face, Peter wasn't so good at hiding his emotions. In fact, he couldn't hide his emotions if his life depended on it.
"No. Pete, don't worry about it. I'll probably end up bumping into you this weekend anyway, especially if you're coming to the tower to do your... internship." Haley says as the teacher comes into the classroom.
"Yeah... probably." Peter says, just above a whisper. He couldn't let his best friend find out his secret. Not now, not ever. It always had to be a secret. If he wanted to protect her, that's how it had to be.
The teacher started teaching the class the lesson and Haley had devoted her full attention to it. Chemistry, of all courses, was her favorite subject to learn. It came so naturally to her, and she aced every test or quiz that came her way.
As the class dragged on, Haley couldn't help but think of all the other things she could be doing right now instead of taking down notes. Though she did love her Chemistry class, the work that came along with it was sometimes very draining to her brain.
She glanced over at Peter, he repeatedly looked at the white board, his notebook, then the clock, and repeated the process over and over again. He was so serious when taking his notes. Peter was one of the smartest people Haley had ever met, he was basically the Einstein of the whole school.
