Anya Lewis was no stranger to pain. When she was 9 years old, she fell out of a tree resulting in her breaking her left leg. At the age of 13 she was the recipient to a prank that had gone horribly wrong; landing her in the hospital wing for a week. She had dealt with physical pain all her life but that never bothered her. Emotional pain on the other hand was what really hurt her. She had lost her parents only a few weeks before her 15th birthday. The pain that comes along with the loss of a loved one was something she never thought she would have to experience. And yet, as a teenager she felt that loss two times over. It was one of the lowest points in her life but like after every low comes a high.

The following year, she found herself in a relationship with the one and only Sirius Black. The love that the two felt for each other was strong, so strong it masked all the pain the two had ever felt. Their relationship went on for a few years, but with the hardships of an oncoming war, their relationship became more difficult for the young couple. Love could only hold the two together for so long. Pain goes hand and hand with war, both emotionally and physically. The pain that was once non-existent in their lives had come back in full force. Fighting tore the couple apart, shattering Anya's heart once more.

The tears that spilt from her eyes after her breakup only grew once she found out she was pregnant with her former lovers' child. Sadness turned to panic, and she decided to hide. Hide the fact she was pregnant from everyone she knew. Hide herself from the world she once loved.

Anya Lewis was no longer the strong, happy Gryffindor. She was now living as a quiet, depressed muggle. She had planned to live her life in hiding until her child was born. Then she would move to Northern Ireland where her second cousin had a home waiting for her. But her plan quickly fell apart when she felt an unimaginable pain in the pit of her stomach. Being nine months pregnant she rushed over to the nearest muggle hospital. Anya soon found out the excruciating pain she was feeling is actually labour. The child she had been carrying for months was finally ready to come into the world. While Anya was excited to meet her baby girl, she was sacred for what the future would hold. Her fear of being a horrible mother was hitting her in full force with every contraction. The stress of labour did nothing to help calm the young woman down.

Soon it was time for Anya to begin pushing. All of the sudden everything in Anya's mind was clear. She knew what she had to do, and she wanted to meet her daughter more than anything in the world. The pain she was feeling faded into the back of her mind, her little girl was the only thing Anya could focus on.

"You're doing great Anya, only a few more pushes!" The doctor exclaims. This was it, the last few minutes before her little girl entered the world. She kept her mind focus on the task at hand, ignoring the horrible pain that was growing in her chest.

"Okay and push!" holding her breathe, Anya put all her effort into the tasks. Fighting the pain, telling herself that it will all be okay once she hears her little girl cry for the first time.

"Eight, nine, ten! That's it she's here, congratulations your little girl is finally here." With the loud cry of her newborn child Anya could finally relax. Takin a deep breath thinking about how her life will never be the same. Hearing the doctors and nurse rush to the tiny baby that she had just birthed making sure she was perfectly healthy she couldn't help but smile. Suddenly the pain Anya had felt during labour had started again. Her chest felt tight and her head was aching. But in this moment all she could think about  was her baby girl. Trying to sit up, there was a sharp pain in her back, but Anya didn't care, she had felt pain all her life and she wasn't going to let it stop her from holding her child.

"Can I hold her, I want to hold her." with a weak voice, Anya asked the nurse who was just finishing cleaning off her baby girl. Tears clouded her vision as her newborn was placed in her arms. As the wrapped her arms around her little girl, she let her tears fall, unable to stop them if she wanted too. She finally got to see the person she had grown inside her for the past few months. Leaning in she placed the softest kiss to the top of her child's head, whispering gentle coos. Tears continued to fall as Anya's pain grew. She knew the pain was not normal, she had ever felt anything like it before; her vision began to become blurry but not from the tears.

"What would you like to name her?" the nurse ask trying to fill out all the paperwork.

Not looking away from her child, knowing she would probably never get to see her again, soaking up the last few moments she had with her as the pain was becoming unbearable. Anya said with her last breath, "Ophelia Genesis Black"

Suddenly the woman's body went limp, and the hospital staff rushed to the newborn and her mother. Ophelia's cries filled the room as she was torn away from her mother and removed from the room. Doctors did everything they could, but Anya Lewis had fought the pain for too long. She had done everything she could to hold the pain back until she got to see her baby girl's face. Ophelia Genesis Black had kept her mother alive long enough for them to meet.

With the death of her mother, Ophelia's life would soon be filled with pain. The newborn would eventually be placed in the muggle foster care system, growing up in unstable environments, drifting from foster home to foster home. Ophelia Black would experience her own pain, growing up without her parents, never being wanted in the homes she was placed in. The untimely death of her mother and the absence of her father had left the child an orphan. And as many know, life is never kind to orphans.
