I'm just going to try and quickly explain to you how me and my brother are where we are today.

9 years ago my parents were killed. They were found in such a gruesome state. Well to me it was because it occurred when I was at such a young age. But the cops said that it was just a car accident. I will never stop assuming that it was more than that.

Up till now our parents killer has still not been identified. Not that it was impossible to figure out, but more so that the cops didn't care too much. To them it was just another death in the community.

Dae and I never stopped searching. We just eventually forgot about it because it was too hard to bare.

I still think about them everyday to be honest, even though I don't have a clear rememberance of them. The love will always be there.

Anyways, after that the cops immediately called child services since Dae and I were under aged. Our grandmother soon gained custody of us a week later. So we flew out to Atlanta. It wasn't necessarily horrible living with Grandma Tanya, but it wasn't the best place to be.

She was a drug addict and would always come home with different men in the night. I was sexually assaulted by many of them, I was threatened that if I ever told anyone, I could kiss my life goodbye. The only decent part of living there was having food, nice clothes, and a roof over our heads. Also going to school. Plus the fact of how sweet Grandma Tanya was when she wasn't high off something.

Dae l always promised me that we would leave there soon and I always took his word for it. Him and I have had and will forever continue to have that close bond we got.

We stayed with her for 4 years until Dae turned 18, had enough money to buy a house, and provide for us on his own. He basically worked in the streets for the full 4 years that we lived there to get all that paper. He seen the dealings, the tortures, the killings. I honestly never thought I would see that type of stuff also. Dae was introduced to gang life by a friend from school a few weeks after we got to Atlana. It became his habit and he fell in love with the amount of quick cash he got. It wasn't the best thing to do but it gave him stacks and helped us all out including Grandma.

As soon as Dae got enough cash, we said our goodbyes to Grandma. It was hard for us to leave Atlanta because we had become so adapted to it. Espcially Dae because of his squad there, they had become like brothers to him.

But we flew back out to Chicago to stay for good. And that's where the story begins.
