Nervous - Shawn Mendes

The city was under attack. I held my phone tightly in my hand, nervous sweat beading down my temples. Shards of glass went flying around, crashing to the ground from a tall building before shattering to a million parts. A smile played with my lips as I snuck closer to the battle. The ninja. They were fighting...something. Pirates? I couldn't tell.

The black ninja threw a punch to the ground, making the street shake, causing me to fall back on my heels. I gasped, my breath catching in my throat before I regained my balance. Clenching my fists, I wandered closer to the fight.

The ground was rattling under my feet like a rattle snake shaking it's tail. I stood, getting a closer look at the enemy, and the heroes. There were six ninja. One black, another red, there was a blue one and a white one, a maroon ninja, and a green ninja. The legendary Green Ninja.

A smirk played with my lips, but I forced the giggle back down my throat. Legendary? He wasn't even doing anything. Well, nothing I could see clearly. To be honest, I hate the Green Ninja.

When I was fourteen, my parents, M/n and D/n, were working for a...bad company. They worked for Borg industries. Not saying the company is exactly...bad, but at the time, Borg was still under the control of the Overlord. My mom and dad's lives were threatened if they didn't make a weapon. They never told me what kind of weapon it was. Only that it was bad and they wouldn't make it.

They were told that if they ever spoke to anyone about the weapon, or that their lives were on the line, the Overlord would kill them instantly. Well, like anyone who was doing the right thing but would also do the incredibly stupid thing, they went to the police, who went to the 'heroes' of our city, the Ninja.

I remember everything like it was yesterday, although it was two years ago. My parents have been dead for two years.

Shaking my head , I clenched my phone tighter, zooming in on the battle. It looked like they were fighting pirates. I mean-

"Look out!" I whipped around and saw the black ninja behind me, charging towards me like an angry bull. He pushed me out of the way before a dagger (or sword) went right through me. Instead, it hit the lamp post I was beside, the steel blade clanking hard against the metal poll.

"Get outta the way!" He yelled, dashing past me and knocking a boulder out of the blue ninja's way. While he was running, he shoved me to the side and my shoulder hit the concrete - hard. I gasped before cringing and cradling my arm.

Biting my lip in attempt to hide the pain, I shimmied myself out of there. I ran into an alley, sighing, relieved, in the shadows. I slumped down, sitting in a tiny corner, still holding my arm.

I closed my eyes for a second -just a second!- before a I felt a warm hand curl around my good shoulder, squeezing it tightly. The smell of alcohol and cigars filled my nostrils, and I cringed. I glanced up.

"Hey there, sweetheart." A man said, taking a swig from his bottle of beer. My eyes widened as he hauled me to my feet. I tried to resist, but like every fairytale goes, I can't. He was too strong. I tried to pull my arm back, but nothing happened. His grip on my arm was tight.

"Let me go." I snapped, trying not to seem weak. Puny. Vulnerable.

"Sorry, sweets. That ain't happinin'." He snorted out. I grimaced.

"Yes, it will happen!" I yanked my arm back before trying to shove through the other 'gang members' or whatever. I growled as one pulled me back. "Ah!" I gasped as a hand flew over my mouth.
