It took the rest of the night for Alphys to finish repairing Mettaton again. When they came home Undyne had so many questions for the both of them but neither uttered a single word. Although the bot didn't answer anything because he was fast asleep. He'd rather not have anyone else see him in such a state. And Alphys didn't speak because she was too focused on helping her best friend.

The fish had tried to follow her partner but Alphys moved right passed her with something or someone strapped to her back. This confused the fish even more as she tried to get at least a glance of the thing. The scientist was having none of that though as she hurried along towards her lab and slammed the door behind her, leaving the fish out of the loop. It wasn't until a few hours later that she got the depressing story of what happened to the struggling star.

"Man....this is...insane." Undyne said breathlessly as she watched the scientist tuck a sleeping Mettaton into bed. It was a gift to him when he transitioned from his ghost form to a more solid one.

Alphys glanced at the fish and was happy that her creation wasn't conscious on the way home. She knew that another pair of eyes was too much to handle at this point. Another thing that filled her with a slight twinge of joy was the way Undyne responded to it all. She could tell that the fish was bothered by the idea of a monster taking advantage of the poor robot. She could see it in her eyes.

"Let's discuss this in the other room." Alphys said before she planted a soft kissed to Mettaton's cheek. Undyne only hesitated a bit as she took one last look at the bot before following after the Doc. Her and Mettaton may not have been fans of the other but she still had heart in her to at least sympathize  with him. No one deserved what he suffered tonight. Trying to play the thought in her head caused her to become angry as she imagined a terrified and trembling Mettaton on the ground as a monster walked over menacingly to take away what little the star had to begin with. She imagined that this was the last straw for him. Her mind continued to race as she was brought back to a time where her and the machine first met. It made her snicker as she remembered trying to flirt with him and him actually declining her offer. She was taken aback that day as no one had ever treated the royal guard with such distaste. How could anyone refuse to sleep with her? The robot definitely proved to be a challenge.

"So....what's gonna happen now?" Undyne almost said in a whisper. Both creatures took a seat on the couch as Alphys pressed her head to the back of the soft sofa. She stared up at the ceiling and took one shaky breath. What would happen now? How would Mettaton move on? "Ya know, I believe that when it uh...happened, that the little guy at least put up a fight." The dinosaur sat up straight and whipped her head around to stare at her partner. It wasn't exactly what she wanted to hear at the moment but she knew the rest of the monsters underground had never experienced this kind of situation before. So what was the right thing to say? Everyone slept with everybody and there was no such thing as the word "no" when it came down to fuck.

"yeah....wait, what makes you say that? I thought you hated each other. I mean whenever you two come around one another you constantly tease him and make the environment around him uncomfortable." Yes Alphys had seen the compassion in Undyne's eyes but that didn't mean that the times where she had to consistenly tell her to leave her creation be was suddenly forgotten. Undyne was the one to always start an argument between her friend and herself. She watched carfefully as the blue woman's eyes widened at the sudden remark and swallowed. "I mean hate is a strong word. I would say that we just are not fond of each other." She shrugged. "That is another word for hate I suppose." Alphys crossed her arms and raised a brow. The fish sighed. "Look, I may not like Mr. short stack,"

"His name is Mettaton." The yellow monster interrupted as she said so sternly. Undyne took in a deep breath. "Sorry. I may not like Mettaton but that doesn't mean I wished for this to happen to him or anyone else for that matter. I mean Jesus Christ, the poor thing was torn to pieces. That's scary for sure. It's so dark and twisted in a way. It makes me shutter just thinking about it." Her hands rubbed at her own arms as she drew her knees up toward her chest. "I admit I should give him an apology. But Alphys, can I at least know why he's like the way he is?" She blushed fiercely at the topic but forced herself to continue. "Like, why isn't he like the rest of us here? Where the hell did he come from? Iv'e never even seen or heard of Mettaton before you introduced him to me so long ago. It's like....it's like you two have some big secret that you won't tell anyone else. What's the deal? I thought we were friends too?" Her voice become faint as she looked away from the scientist. It hurt to be left out. It really did.

Alphys watched the royal guard carefully as she spoke and felt guilty all of a sudden. She had no idea that that's how Undyne felt. She didn't think she cared. But even she could hear the hurt in her voice.

Taking the fishes hand in her own she squeezed it and sighed. "I'm sorry. I never meant to make you feel this way. I just...it's not my place to say. Mettaton has to tell you these things. Not me or anyone else.  But that's if he wants to in the first place. I wish you two would just understand each other and get along. because I hate choosing between the both of you. Just put all your differences aside and at least act cordial towards one another. Please." She was practically begging at this point. Pleading with her big brown beautiful eyes. Looking into them made Undyne's heart flutter and squeeze the others hand. "okay. I'll...make an attempt." Alphys smiled. "That's all I ask." The both of them wrapped their arms around each other as they sat in their strong embrace.
