the round lights shined ever so brightly in his eyes as the lipstick was applied to his soft lips. taehyung's face was covered with cosmetics from aaliyah's makeup bag. as the color baby spice was being added to his eyelids all he could do was smile. although he hated wearing makeup and he hated the smell of mascara, he would let aaliyah do whatever made her happy. she could dress him in a fluffy pink tutu and he'd let her do it ten times over. all that mattered in the world was her sole happiness, all that mattered was her.

"what're you smiling so big for tae? i thought you hated makeup," she said with a smirk. she knew all about him and everything he liked and disliked. it was their type of friendship. although they didn't consider each other best friends, they were. they had never covered the topic of being best friends, but it was evident.

"i find it so funny how you like makeup like you but look really good bare faced. you don't need makeup," he spoke lightly. aaliyah was ethereal in his eyes and there weren't any flaws to her. she was lovely inside and out.

"ah tae," she clicked her tongue, "what would i do without you, you're my number one fan. " aaliyah let out a giggle as she put the finishing touches on his look.

"all done!" she chirped. taehyung erupted in laughter ad he saw the ending look. he looked like he was going to prom or something really formal, it looked really professional. he just looked at her and laughed, even more, filling up the room.

" i-is it that bad? " aaliyah frowned. she was planning on going to school for cosmetology and she took his laughing as he was taunting her. taehyung began to notice what he did and how it may have hurt her feelings.

"no! no, i didn't mean it like that it looks really good!" he felt obliged to yell or she thinks he was making even more fun of her.

" you're really really good aaliyah. "the girl covered her face out of nervousness and hid under her covers. she mumbled words he couldn't hear and she started to laugh too. he let out a sigh of relief and his heart finally began to beat again. aaliyah was extremely soft hearted and she was really sensitive, although he wouldn't say that to her face. taehyung felt as if he'd hurt her feelings he'd be the worse person ever.

aaliyah motioned for taehyung to come over and he lay on her bed and lay directly beside her. he could feel her hairbrush up on his skin and it gave him goosebumps. he loved her presence, especially when he was right next to her. the room was filled with a long and comforting silence that lasted for what felt like eternity until aaliyah spoke up.

" taehyung you know i do love you right? " aaliyah said in almost a whisper. taehyung's throat felt dry and his heart began to race. she had never said that before. in all their seven years of friendship, she had never said that. he didn't think the day would come where she would say it, those three words. aaliyah wasn't a feelings person and almost never shared them with anyone so that moment meant a lot to him.

he couldn't find himself to answer her and he just grabbed her hand. it was a bold move but he took it. he could feel his heart almost jumping out of his chest and his breathing began to slow. was it finally happening? this wasn't how he planned it, not where he was wearing highlight and eyeliner.

"i know i've never said it and i didn't realize it until recently when we went out for froyo. how the couple in front of were saying i love you back and forth. and of course I know we aren't together but you're my best friend and i love you a lot. i'm sorry for not saying it earlier tae." she said gently. as their fingers were intertwined taehyung could feel his breathing going back to normal.

she loved him. it didn't matter that he loved her in a different way, because she loved him too.
