Two weeks had passed since the encounter with Taehyung in the art room, and also Jungkook had been eating lunch with him every day.
This particular lunchtime, however, Taehyung had other arrangements, meaning Jungkook would sit with his other friends for the first time in a while.
As he piled his tray with the food the school offered he scanned over the lunch hall and found the very distinct table at which his best friends were seated.
Why was it distinct? Well Jin's laugh quite simply resembled a boomerang. For example, he would start laughing at one of his own jokes, and his laugh would start by echoing around the table, before proceeding to echoing of every wall in the dining hall and then dying down, the very obvious source coming from the the blonde-haired man, who simply winked and shrugged it off every time he got stares.
As Jungkook placed his tray down at the table, all of his friends turned to him, wide eyed.
"So, I see you're not spending this lunchtime with your new bestie huh?" Jin said sarcastically, resting his head on his hands in front of him.
"Taehyung was busy, so I guess I'm eating with you guys."
A silence drifted over the table, almost in an awkward and sad manner. They all loved Jungkook they really did.
Jungkook looked up, with a half eaten apple in his hand, staring at the older males seated around him.
"Hey, I still love you guys, it's just Taehyung, he's-"
"Cut the crap and say you love him already." Yoongi deadpans, earning a slight shove from Jimin.
"Yah, don't be so direct, let Jungkook explore around a bit. Plenty of fish in the sea y'know." Jimin retorts
"Shit Jimin, never say that again, we have lovely Sohyun heading towards us right now." Hobi says, his eyes widening a little as he sips his sprite, smiling at his sister who somehow ended up in her gang.
Sohyun was that girl who could look amazing in a plain top and jeans. The clothes hugged her body at all the right places and her porcelain skin practically glowed under the light of cheap lightbulbs that illuminated the dining hall.
Jungkook tried to keep his head down. They hadn't really talked since their last date, it's safe to say that they were blanking each other.
"Such kids, god." Jin mutters under his breath, finally sensing the situation, "fuck this is gonna be some hot tea," he says a little louder than he expected, earning a glare from Namjoon.
"Now's really not the time hyung." He whines, making Jin lower his head.
"So," Sohyun says, swiping her bottom lip with her tounge, "You're actually eating with your friends today?"
